To be fair, in November SAG-AFTRA did also make a deal for movies and TV for AI likenesses being used in projects. However, I do think that video games and voice acting in general are a bit of a different beast since they’re often already overlooked and underpaid.
I mean the union fought tooth and nail and had a vote on the AI deal for their silver and big screen members and while I can kind of understand that the union leadership probably went, “Well we have a blueprint from our last vote, we should be good to just use it again” type of thing, I can understand why the VA members would be a bit upset and feel disrespected in not having the same courtesy applied with allowing them to have the same review and vote.
And while it’s a good thing that this asshat is gone, I’m sure he’ll be running another company soon enough and spreading his cancer and bad practices elsewhere very soon as a CEO at some other company.
Plus you know that he’s not the only cause of this at the company and his underlings that are just as cancerous with their bullshit are still there.
While sending your password in plaintext over email is very much a bad idea and a very bad practice, it doesn’t mean they store your password in their database as plaintext.
I mean it should and they didn’t set a new standard, they just brought back a old standard of having a developer and publisher actually giving a fuck about making a good, complete game.
I mean nice but honestly I’m not all that excited about it right now without seeing some actual specs besides it’ll have a LCD screen an ‘larger’ internal storage.
Notwithstanding but the switch 2 will have significant competition the steam deck and its competitors along with the fact that Microsoft and Sony are releasing their first party games on PC, Nintendo’s first party exclusives just aren’t as big of a draw for me anymore.
