I enjoyed it. It’s definitely a different feel than previous AC games, so if you go in hoping for that, you might be disappointed. I think it’s definitely worth checking out, especially if you can get it on sale.
I’m starting to question my life a lot. I’ve played over 4k hours of BoI since the first version. I remember when people warned about WoW before I really gamed and how people were sinking their whole lives into it and I was like, “wow, can’t imagine, that’s crazy,” and now I’m those people. I should go outside.
The local oldies station summer concert features Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, Tag Team and some other 90s bands, so now I kind of want to buy a walker and some tennis balls since my childhood is considered oldies.
Bro games are for fun. If they can’t be a selfish fantasy jerk off, what can? That’s such a dramatic description. Is “I’m a D&D purist” code for “I can’t let people enjoy things.”
Yesss, I loved both of those games. Pentiment was so strange - there are things I didn’t love about it, but I still got so sucked in that I’d wake up the morning and be eager to start playing again to find out what happens next. I haven’t felt that way about a game in a while.
Okay let me start with two heavy hitters right from the get go and don’t forget these are only personal oppinions and I absolute understand if you like those games. Good for you!...
Ugh I feel the same way about The Witcher. I tried 2 and 3 and just couldn’t get into it. The combat was not enjoyable and it felt really clunky to me. I actually tried 2 a couple of times because everyone raved and I thought maybe I was just missing something, but it wasn’t for me.
Did you play any of the Dragon Age games? I’ve heard the combat is pretty similar, which is a bummer because that was the thing that kept me from continuing DA:O. I feel like I’d enjoy the story of both but can’t get past the actual gameplay.
Probably not much this time. I don’t think Dredge really falls under lesser known, but I might pick that up. I’ll probably get House Flipper 2 - the first one was one of my go-tos for destressing, so I’m hoping the sequel will fill the same niche. Otherwise, I’ve either bought most of what I’ve been looking at in previous sales or played it on gamepass/ea play.
All that pricing model would do is incentivize even more useless filler than a lot of games already have. If a game can say it offers 100 hours of playtime, but 70 of those hours are fetch quests, how many hours do you think they’d try to charge for?
Look, everyone hates the Thalmor, but a lot of Nords treat every other race like hot garbage. The khajit aren’t even allowed in the cities and people never stop talking shit when I play as an elf. It’s not just Ulfric, and the game makes it pretty clear.
I’m not sure it’s legal to implement it retroactively. I’d be very curious to get an attorney’s perspective - seems a lot like trying to unilaterally change a contract after both parties have signed. But I have a hard time imagining anyone being willing to develop using Unity going forward.
That’s awesome! Elianora’s mods have been basically a mandatory download for me for years because the quality is always incredible. She absolutely deserves this.
