What are y’all playing? I started Silent Hill F. After about 8 hours in I think I’m going to put it down for now. The combat was a huge slog for me and was just not really enjoying my time with it :/...
I paid for Nightingale on Steam, and I still give it a recommended. For sure shows it’s early access bones, but the crafting is deeeep. Hard sell for some folks though, since it doesn’t tutorialize well.
I played the first one “co-op” with my partner, and that helped dampen some of the repetitive elements. She made all the decisions and I controlled the game Will probably do the same with this, but much farther down the road when it is cheaper

This isn’t always the case obviously, but this can be a neurodivergent coping mechanism. As someone with high social anxiety, having something I can focus on outside the social aspect for a small period can do wonders
I really enjoyed Lies of P. It is not as polished as Elden Ring, but still a great souls like. You could also play Dark souls 1. It is a little rough not having a dedicated jump button, but still one of the better souls games out there.
I’m going to give coyotino the benefit of the doubt here and say that meant “Look at her, she already looks like Zelda” just based on the previous sentence
You could get a phone mount for a PS controller. Just a warning though, my phone was way heavier than my Dualsense controller, so it was not comfortable to play lying down. Another benefit of using the Playstation controller is you can stream your Playstation games.
I’m right there with ya on Blue Prince. The late game seems more like tricks than actual puzzles. That being said, it also makes it so I feel less bad about looking things up.
Oh, don’t retract it. It is a bad way to indicate the solution since it requires the Foyer and to have finished the grid message accurately. IMO anything that can be foiled by RNG is a bad way to do it.
This isn’t dirty laundry, this is current events. This event happened last week.
If you are referring to the game, the article calls out the US and UK, but the game description itself just says western, which probably means several locations. But even if it is just the US and UK, who cares? The US and UK have a fuckton of dirty laundry that is still being aired out, and this South African dev has the right to address concerns with those two countries that have had direct harm to their culture
The political implications were the point though. Or do you think he had no idea what he was doing? The “We didn’t know it would be taken as a political statement” BS is just damage control
You mean in 2017 like the article pointed out. And maybe there should have been backlash for it. It was a shitty thing to do then, and an even worse thing to do now
Other than the obvious missing numbers, this is also missing scale. Sure, one response likely takes less energy than playing the game, but Fortnite averaged 1.4 million daily players the last year. Granted not all of them are going to interact with the bot, but a whole hell of a lot are going to, and do it multiple times in a row.
No, my point is one player on a single video card is going to interact with the bots multiple times to try and get it to say something funny (or racist as real life played out). That takes more than a single interaction
Sorry, I said “no” because it is clearly not just 6 year olds playing fortnite and interacting with the bots, but did not elaborate at all. Brain fart on my part
If the number of video cards running Fortnite weren’t cause for worry 3 years ago, why would this use of AI be concerning today?
Because it has the potential to be way worse, but it depends heavily on actual energy usage, which we don’t have in this case. What we do have is estimates on ChatGPT, and the estimates are pretty bad
It is super tough to get more than a ballpark for sure. The 1.4 million players from average daily players over the past year. 30 million is the all time peak, I believe.
As far as how much Epic/Disney is willing to spend, that is another grey area. Do they consider this marketing? Do they consider this a test bed for AI generated actors for shows and movies? The motivation and how much they are willing to spend is even more opaque than the energy use numbers

PAX’ audience are primarily comic and board game nerds, they’re historically light on video game booths in their expo hall
That is entirely untrue. PAX has a specific tabletop convention (PAX Unplugged), but the main cons are very heavily video game focused. The expo hall have an indie game section, but the vast majority of the expo hall is major companies (Nintendo often has the largest booth). I have been to PAX West nearly every (I missed the first year and last year), and board games are there, but never the focus
Yes, I understand you think it is 75% board/tabletop/comics and, at least at PAX west, that is untrue. Nintendo literally did a mini event inside PAX two years. Larian has had a huge presence since BG3 was announced. There are esports events the whole time. Most of the panels are video game related. It may be that you don’t do the AAA stuff, but there has historically been a huge presence
Right? “We made a mediocre game that doesn’t deliver on the promises we made. Pls give good review now”
That being said, I have not read the Steam reviews, but it could be that they are getting bombed, but the situation described in the article is just people not liking the game for valid reasons
I’m getting ready for work, so only have time to do one image, but this is pretty clearly AI generated. The other image is not quite as egregious, but if you take more than a passing glance at the car in the billboard ad, it is pretty obviously AI as well.
That is probably why they are all differnt sizes and the flag part is different (or non existent) in each one.
The images might be based off in game assets, but if those are not AI then the artist certainly has a style that mimics AI art. I don’t think that is the case, though
AI art looks terrible, is almost always trained on stolen art, and is typically environmentally unsound. There are genuinely good uses for AI, art is not one of them.
We are talking about this specifically because there is reason enough to doubt Nintendo saying they didn’t use it. Nintendo may have used their own assets to train any alleged AI, buy them shutting down the conversation means we will never know.
