I mean it’s portraits and statues, and you work with the artist and devs for all that stuff, seems like work they would be doing anyways and now it gives community engagement
Still not really out of the ordinary for Kickstarter, or collaborative world building in general, at least the ttrpg games I’m in. And, still, the devs work with you on that stuff. Yeah I suppose it’s not a pure product, but I imagine there won’t be anything actually out of whack design wise when it releases.

The game now requires an always-online connection, even if you play offline. Just tried it myself by setting Steam to offline mode and you can never ‘Ready Up’ into a map. This was not the case before the Epic Games Store integration they did awhile ago....
I used to be into KF1 because all the ads, trailers, etc were always so fun to watch. Became a lot more boring in KF2 and the game itself kinda felt that way too.

They have been gaining a reputation for poor writing, ‘wheadonesque’ if you know the term. Some lowlights on the game Forspoken that they worked on being a recent funny example. I don’t like them because I do find the writing bad, but some people don’t like them for their politics.
