Patches,

Somewhere, a company employs one of these people, and they have the best documentation you’ve ever seen.

Not my company 😂😭

Patches,

Is anyone else still confused

Larian is somehow an independent enough to tell Hasbro to go fuck themselves but not independent enough that Hasbro told them to layoff people, and they said ‘okay’.

Are they independent? Or are they not?

Patches,

Thank you for answering my question. That makes more sense.

Patches,

You customize both but “later” is a stretch. You will never see the other after bout 10 minutes of gameplay. >!Spoilers!<. I think they use both of your looks to generate your child but honestly that side story is such shit - I’d rather not look for my son/daughter.

Patches,

You can avoid this by bringing one of them off the Internet but it’s a real pain. It’s not so bad on the Steam Deck but bringing a desktop offline intentionally seems crippling. No Streaming music, no email alerts.

Either way I’m excited for the change. It makes way more sense.

There’s no reason Pajama Sam from 1997 can’t be played at the same time as Stardew Valley on 2 separate PCs.

Patches,

Well and GaBeN is still alive.

He need to find a successor before his time

Patches,

Don’t forget about Transistor and Pyre.

Has Super Giant ever made a flop? Just all outstanding games all around.

Patches,

Mostly Frustration.

I could never make it to the second level despite hours of playing.

Patches,

I was kinda frustrated by Tunic. Not gonna lie. It’s clearly a masterpiece but you have to play old school and write every single little thing down. Go back and forth for days.

Chains of Echoes is tied with Chrono Trigger for best JRPG of all time and my mind won’t be changed. Now if only anything else could soothe that itch. I love that you absolutely never 'Just click Attack’s over and over to save MaNa.

Patches,

If you like Recettear then you would like Moonlighter. It’s the same game but made a decade later.

Patches,

Just everything, honestly.

The battle system for starters is constantly asking you to think smart. You’ve a gauge that you have to keep centered to be “in the flow” such that you can’t blindly use the best attack every time. You always start every battle with full health and mana - so you never have to ration between fights. Which adds up that every fight can be difficult. There is no cannon fodder.

You level up as the story progresses so you can’t simply grind to a higher level. There is a level system but it’s more a skill mastery one It respects your time in that you will never need to grind for anything.

The puzzles are difficult enough to be challenging but not so much that you will ever need a strategy guide.

The story is relatable without being convoluted. Each character has realistic goals, and interests. There is no clear “I’m evil because fuck you I’m evil”. There is no clear good guy either, and you will see what I mean if you finish the story.

The world makes sense and has no suspension or disbelief moments. Speaking of it’s a world in which both Dragons and Giant frickin robots are both natural, and they make sense.

I absolutely loathe when a JRPG Battle System demands that I either save everything so that I have MaNa for the boss fight, or makes it so that you should just click ‘Attack’ every time with no reason. I also loathe random battles. This has none - you choose which monsters to fight, and they don’t come right back.

I literally could not put it down for any length of time until I had hit 100% of everything. A tall order for a game that took me almost 100 hours when I’m a full time adult with kids.

Patches,

Of course it will be Backwards Compatible.

Don’t be silly.

You will just purchase rent your old Switch games on the New Switch 2 Eshop2. Then you can play up to 30 days so long as it is on your Home Wifi, and you do not have guests over.

Patches,

For Tunic - you will 100% be expected to play like an old school game. So keep physical paper notes of what you see or you’ll be going back and forth.

Patches, (edited )

Reminder Horizon Zero Dawn was a buggy mess that crashed on startup and took months to attain playable. They did put in the work after the fact which is admirable but the point still stands:

Don’t be too optimistic about a pre-order.

Patches, (edited )

I will preorder the next From Software and that’s about it. They have never failed to deliver a quality product and I have purchased every one of their games since Armored Core 1 in 1997.

Everyone else - nah.

There is something to be said for the experience of many people playing through a game for the first time and shared experiences. The fact that the answers to your question don’t exist anywhere. You can’t Google the solution to a puzzle, or the cheese to this boss.

Epic Games reportedly hit by 189GB hack, including login and payment info (www.rockpapershotgun.com) angielski

The report comes from Cyber Daily, who also broke the news of last year’s confirmed hack attack on Insomniac Games. The site claims that new ransomware group Mogilevich are the culprits, as per the screencap of a darkweb posting above, and that the hackers are now trying to get Epic or another party to pay up for the return of...

Patches,

They stole half a copy of the latest Call Of Duty

Patches,

Your phone has enough power to emulate an N64 and roms are free. Ain’t nobody making royalties 25 years later on Wrestlemania.

Patches,

All that proves is Nintendo writes great software.

It doesn’t make their hardware not criminally underwhelming.

Patches, (edited )

I’m comparing it to the fact that their own games drop to single fps on very expected situations.

The Nvidia shield came out in 2013 and had the same hardware as Nintendo Switch in 2019 so no it wasn’t that impressive.

theverge.com/…/nintendo-took-the-guts-from-the-nv…

I loved my shield. If they had given it the ability to run Linux and play PC games. We would’ve had the Steam Deck a decade earlier. It was a great emulation station.

Patches, (edited )

I did too until I realized they almost always come buggy as shit.

I couldn’t run Horizon Zero Dawn for more than 15 minutes until about 8 months past release. They ain’t spending that time between PlayStation release and PC release getting ready.

Patches,

You think it’s piracy? Or PlayStation being so deluded that they think you’ll absolutely spend $600 to buy their system because “(Game) is so good”. I mean shit I’ve never played, and will likely never play Bloodborne.

Idk who the person where $600 + $60 Game = Must play makes sense - but it ain’t me.

Patches,

Meanwhile the Deck is both a hand warmer, and an aromatic candle.

Patches,

The only reason to choose MSI for PC parts is price so yes it would be very hard for them to compete. Their QA is non-existent and their Customer Support Ethereal.

Patches,

Good luck avoiding most of them. They own everything.

Nestle doesn’t just make Chocolate…

Patches,

The OGL License happened after Larian teamed up with Hasbro to make Baldur’s Gate 3. Thankfully Larian is still independent so it can continue on to make better RPGs without Hasbro.

Patches,

It’s slow like a TTRPG. If you liked Baldur’s Gate then you will like Divinity.

If one is too slow for you then you won’t like the other.

I personally can’t stand either but I’m not a TTRPG fan.

Patches,

Okay while I agree it’s everyone.

It is absolutely possible for a single corporation to not be the shittiest possible person in existence. They just can’t be public.

The stock market is the worst thing to ever happen to this country.

Patches, (edited )

Back in the days of bundles.

Looks at the 5 TRPG I just got yesterday for $15. So I could get 1 game I wanted that is always $20.

Patches, (edited )

You don’t have to look very far back to see the positives

polygon.com/…/the-day-before-fntastic-twitter-ste…

Most people got refunds on the policy alone. The rest are getting them outside of policy by directly talking to Steam.

Do you think the same would happen in Epic?

Patches, (edited )

Hot take: Alan Wake 2 would have a lot of explaining to do if EPIC had a review system. My disappointment with that game was immeasurable and my weekend was ruined.

Patches,

They reinvested basically every dollar they made on The Messenger to make this. I’m not sure it could’ve ever been a bigger budget without an entirely different studio - making it a completely different game.

Patches,

Please tell me you’ve played Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Both games are tied for the best game I’ve ever played. They have everything perfected in every way. I wish I would go back in time and erase my memory so I could play it again.

Patches,

If you like Dark Souls/Sekiro/Bloodborne then you will love Lies of P. It’s very high quality. If you didn’t know better - it could’ve been made by From Software.

The biggest complaints are that it’s almost not original in how well it copies every single facet of From Software. They’re clearly very talented - I’d love to see what they do if they added their own spin.

Patches,

I have to wonder who approved that the BBEG is the Moon. Now you’re gonna kill it.

Talk about jumping the shark.

Patches,

Oh man I’m still trying to chase that dragon after beating Chained Echoes. The last JRPG that could compare was Chrono Trigger.

Patches,

So to be clear “part of the problem” is the functional basis for our entire economical system. What exactly is the other part?

Patches, (edited )

since Microsoft acquired it.

Embrace

Extend

Estinquish

They have not changed.

Patches,

I compared my wealth to Bill Gates and turns out he makes more money just existing for 1 minute than I will make in my entire life. But we are comparable.
