Today’s game is Silent Hill 2 Remake. I had a whole post typed but accidentally closed the tab before submitting. I finally finished the Hospital after two days of putting it off. I’m hoping the prison will be swift and painless because that part is terrifying with the large open ceilings, even with the Chainsaw....

Today’s game is Mario Kart 64. I wanted to kick back today, so i booted this up and drove a race in Toad’s Turnpike. I wanted to get some more progress in on SH2 before the motivation i have burns out, but oh well. Worst case scenario i shelve it and pick it up sometime later....

I’m weird and play everything with a PS3 controller lol. The best way I’ve found though is the N64 controller, but I believe Nintendo’s official Nintendo Online reproduction can connect to PC Via Bluetooth but I don’t own one so I can’t say that for sure.

It’s definitely some of the most fun to be had, especially when bringing it to parties or a friend’s house. I wish they brought back the Bombs on the field when playing Vs. mode too, it felt like a good way to balance their only being 2-4 players per a race.

I had another day where i just kind of Wanted to take things easy, so i booted up minecraft Wii U edition after discovering i had a ROM backup on my external SSD. So i fired it up in Cemu along with the latest version and booted into a survival world how i would when i was younger. Easy mode, bonus chest, and the Gamma cranked...

That’s definitely is a sentiment I share with the feeling of mystery it had. I remember me and my Sister would spend hours trying to summon Herobrine or summon the Wither before it was added to console edition. It’s something that’s hard to recapture now I feel like, especially because the game’s inner workings have been explained. That’s not to say modern Minecraft sucks, but I do miss those feelings of mystery with it.

Portal was one of the First game franchises i got really attached to. It and its sequel well deserves that spot in the Hall of Fame

The blood is interesting, i guess they thought not too fix what isn’t broken. Also, yeah, i’d kill for a hard mode remix of Portal 2. Definitely make the repeat playthroughs more interesting

spoilerMasahiro Ito (The art director and creature designer for Silent Hill 2 and the Remake) has said that James’s Wife’s Corpse is in the back seat of the car. It’s hard to see due to the tint on the window in my Screenshot, but the outline of her body can be seen under the blanket, not to mention that in the in water ending (basically the ending where he kills himself) James looks into the back seat of his car while driving it into the lake and talking about how his wife isn’t with him anymore.

It’s been a while since I played the original but in my opinion the Remake nailed the mood of the original perfectly. Personally I think It’s everything a remake should be (minus the lack of the sub-scenario)

Today i finished Silent Hill 2. I think i enjoyed this one more than the original. It’s one of those games where after beating it you’re left with this sort of hole because you know you’ll never get to experience something like it again, which i think is highly impressive for a remake. I’m close to finishing Silent Hill 2 today. The game nearly gave me a heart attack though. Not because of the game itself, but because i guess at some point my storage filled up and it wasn’t writing save files correctly, so whenever James would load in he’d just spawn in a black Abyss....

It’s been playable. I play on Dock so i can usually lock it on max clock speed. But at 720p it runs pretty smoothly. There’s only been a few times where I’ve gone “okay, there’s some noticeable frame drops here” but even then it wasn’t any critical sections. It’s worth noting though that I haven’t reached the end so that’s subject to change

The stories are probably my favorite part of sharing the screenshots. It’s easier (and more fun) on Multiplayer games though imo. I feel like a lot of single player game’s stories boil down too “I made it to this point, I want to make it to this point next”

I had to lower the graphics today because performance started dropping later in the game for some reason. I was fully expecting it to be noticeable with the drop in quality but honestly it still looks really pretty on the lowest settings

I’m a part time student. Maybe with next semester that will change because I’m looking into going full time. But I always try to put at least 30 minutes to an hour into gaming just to relax after long days.

I think being part time has just afforded me a lot more of that time though, which is why I’m knocking so many games out like this.

I played the OG when i was 13 on my shitty Acer laptop. It was an experience. I was doing the same thing while going through the remake when seeing the redesigned areas. Like I’d see a space and go “oh. This is where James first encounters an enemy”.

Yeah. I played my first playthrough a few years ago. I just finished my crushing run today actually.

One thing I will say after beating it is that I feel like the difficulty of Crushing really drew out combat encounters (at least for me), so it kind of counter balanced the lack of combat encounters
