MrScottyTay, do games w Alan Wake 2 PC Re-Tested: Massive Perf Boost on GTX 10-Series 'Pascal' GPUs

Isn’t it different optimization, not better? Since it’s using different rendering techniques for older GPUs?

I feel like with all of the subscription services we have now, I think we need to start seeing paying full price is more of a “fast pass” ticket to play the game first. Games seem to always becoming cheap or outright free nowadays. That is unless it’s from Nintendo.

I’ve sort of come to terms with this. I’ve paid full price for games like final fantasies and kingdom hearts’ . And they’ve all became free on PS+ but I’ve already finished them and I’ve got other games to play now anyway so I’m not bothered.

Yeah, I get you. I was worried when i first heard of it being “open world”. And I had the same issues with XVI. The story and characters you met in the side quests was awesome and I would say vital to understanding the world as a whole and in turn learning to love it. But the gameplay surrounding the side content was the weakest part of the game by an ultra marathons length.

I’m still in the first few hours and interrupted with a few of the “ubisoft-esque stuff” and so far I’m just glad there’s not that much. I’m thankful it’s not like an ubi game where doing the “tower” equivalent then shows 50 icons on the map. 3-5 seems fine to me. But who knows maybe I’ll get massively bored of that stuff by the end of the game like I did with XVI.

I would like some more open-ness in KH. Especially if you liken it to how the first game was more open and less corridor-esque. Also the open worlds in 3 were probably the best ones. Especially the pirates one. But once again I think that sort of gameplay is suited to just a few worlds. It would probably be more annoying if every world was exactly like that. What they should do is give us a variety of all the different kinds of worlds we’ve come to see across the franchise thus far. With a few extra ideas thrown on top.

I’m a huge fan of the OG but I’m also loving the new one. Only thing I’d currently complain about is I prefer the weapon upgrading in the previous entry over what we have now and the folios. Feels like a step back.

But also these new games have way more content than the original so…

Also it’s not a “remake” in the traditional sense, the first game in this series was just called that.

MrScottyTay, do games w The upcoming Crazy Taxi reboot is a triple-A game, according to Sega

It was AAA back then so why wouldn’t a new game in that franchise also be AAA?

I am in the UK, so I’m basing it on what I know of the UK

MrScottyTay, do games w Disco Elysium standalone expansion reportedly cancelled and quarter of staff facing redundancy at ZA/UM

It does. Because being made redundant means you get a pay package when you lose your job. If you get fired, you get nothing.

Redundancy is very different to being fired though. When you’re fired you just lose your job and that’s it. If you get made redundant, you lose your job but get paid X amount of months worth of wages to make up for the fact you may be jobless for a while, while you look for a new one. X being different depending on both the countries laws and the company’s policies. But usually it increases the longer you’ve been with the company.

MrScottyTay, do games w Neil Druckmann on the TLOU2 Doc: "The next project at Naughty Dog is not an The Last of Us, but TLOU3 is at a concept level since there is one more chapter to the story"

I just want to see something fresh, even if it’s revisiting something getting then that we haven’t seen in ages like jak and daxter or platforming in general. But I think the studio has changed too much for that to happen again

MrScottyTay, do games w Recommendations for Pirate Games?

They’ve been trying with skull and bones but it’s both in development hell, been delayed multiple times and even changed play styles over the years. I’m not hopeful sadly.

MrScottyTay, do gaming w 2K pulls Spec Ops: The Line from digital stores without warning

They should be able to. These things usually only take them down from sale.

MrScottyTay, do games w Legendary Half-Life YouTuber plans class-action lawsuit against Ubisoft for killing The Crew

It’s all about how they’re sold and marketed rather than what’s in a EULA. They can’t be used the same way as a contract upon purchase and have been shown just as such in law cases in the past. FFXIV, WOW and Eve have always been sold under the pretence you need to keep paying to keep playing.

MrScottyTay, do games w Legendary Half-Life YouTuber plans class-action lawsuit against Ubisoft for killing The Crew

It’s because MMOs were sold as subscriptions (most of the time) so they’re legally covered in being allowed to end their service. The crew however was sold as a full game with no subscription. They didn’t make it clear that the game could cease to exist even though you paid for it outright.

Sadly, I feel like a lawsuit line this won’t have the benefit we’re all hoping for (open sourcing on closure of services) but will instead just make all subsequent games free-to-play, which would make them more exempt to the same scrutiny. And we’re already seemingly heading that way too, warts and all.

MrScottyTay, do games w FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH - Destined for Rebirth

As long as you keep it at the native res it’s not that bad. It’s got a charm to it.
