KevonLooney,

“The Jungle” famously spurred large reforms. The FDA exists and has a lot of power because people were disgusted by what they read.

That’s why you’re reading a hundred-year-old book: it was influential.

KevonLooney,

So you’re intentionally exaggerating when you say “nothing has changed”. Yeah nothing has changed, except an entire Executive Branch department that didn’t exist before. It was more influential than many other books written at the time.

Of course the author wanted the book to be even more influential, that’s why authors write. No writer says “this book kinda sucks, I hope people read half of it and put it down”.

KevonLooney,

😂

Tone police? That’s rich, coming from the comment police. Besides, you said it twice:

Nothing has changed, it was obvious what was happening long ago, but we’ve done nothing but watch it get worse.

Do you think no one can provide context for your comments? Everyone has to agree with you 100%?

KevonLooney,

Many UX people disagree with you. Here’s a discussion on it, including the guy who invented infinite scroll:

His name was Aza Raskin and he now says he’s deeply sorry and feels guilty about it.

…uxdesign.cc/how-the-invention-of-infinite-scroll…

KevonLooney,

there will be nothing else

That’s putting it a bit strongly. But it does induce people to spend money. Personally I don’t spend extra money on games. I can go to Vegas if I want to gamble for money.

KevonLooney,

That’s because posts are not just thoughts in your head. You are selecting the particular thought you want to publish on here. You are promoting it.

Very few people are “just saying” or “just asking questions”. Usually those are just rhetorical devices for introducing unpopular ideas that would be rejected otherwise.

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour (www.forbes.com) angielski

While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.

KevonLooney,

One correction:

Apple releases “iTetris” for $3000. Their fans claim it’s way better than the original. It’s the same game with only 8 levels, but you can pay extra for more.

What do you think is a good required completion time for video games? What examples come to mind of games that felt just right? angielski

I used to like open world games that would take 50+ hours to beat but I feel like as I get older these games can be intimidating to even start and I often get sidetracked with other games frequently only getting half to three quarters of the way through....

KevonLooney,

Why would you get those? Just get a game that never ends, like Factorio. Or a competitive online game with individual servers.
