I was trying both, everything was just really bad frame rates and stuttering, and a few things wouldn’t run after installing specifically Linux marked games on Steam. Back on Win10 everything is running like butter.
Couldn’t have put it better myself. Like, installing it it asked if I wanted extra helpful software and drivers, but I still had to spend a ton of time setting up basic programs. Default video player sucked, default file browser sucked. Having both the dock and the system toolbar is unnecessary, annoying, and confusing for new users. Most of the default apps feel like an Apple OS to me also, like you have NO configuration options, it’s just you get what you get. The Ubuntu software store is a fraction of a fraction of what it should be. Snaps SUCK.
Legends Arceus or whatever it was called could have been my favorite Pokemon game but they took so many weird decisions and made it a chore instead of fun and as always made it super baby mode and didn’t go for any kind of online options. A good 3D Pokemon MMO is possible, but Gamefreak and Nintendo don’t seem to have any interest in one ever existing. Also, I’ll be honest, I see no reason whatsoever that they limit the Pokemon available and cut old ones, with all the money they have and employees, there’s no reason they can’t incorporate every single pokemon into newer games and in an MMO setting they could even do certain ones active at certain times or some other way to make them feel exciting to get.
I’ve never understood the appeal of watching twitch streams, I enjoy the edited compiled stuff with all the boring moments cut out that ends up on YouTube sometimes, but I see no point in watching a dude eating and drinking and staring at his monitor and shouting out to viewers.
Yes and no, there are MANY games I have been forced to use DSX for because they don’t recognize my controller (not that what this update does changes that).
In case you’re out of the loop, the old Steam Deck had Philips screws that screwed into self-tapping plastic holes. This lead to occasional stripped threads and often stripped screwheads....
I don’t really understand how people make the review threads, but we’re sitting at a 77 on OpenCritic right now. Many were worried about game performance after the recommended specs were released, but it looks like it’s even worse than we expected. It sounds like the game is mostly a solid release except for the...
I never play these types of games but I distinctly remember my friend having a full on meltdown about how fucked up the first Cities Skylines was like a decade ago, lol.
I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....
I love a game with a good large settings menu that lets me change as much as possible. If you don’t lock me out of changing all the keybindings then you’re already ahead of the game. I hate when a game has a really badly implemented feature and no way to change it or disable it.
AMD has made an oversight in implementing their new technology that poses a significant issue for Counter Strike 2 players who have opted to utilize AMD’s AntiLag+. That’s fucked, imagine having no idea, enabling it and being banned from a game you’ve been playing for years because of something your graphics card manufacturer suggested.
It’s over-the-top because people get banned from games with these heavy handed anticheat programs for merely having certain programs on their PCs like Reshade, CheatEngine, Autohotkey, etc. Having those doesn’t mean you’re cheating in the current game you’re playing, but you can still get banned by some games just for them being installed and that’s bullshit. I use Reshade in damn near every game I play and not for any advantage, just to make the game look better, I use CheatEngine sometimes in offline games just for fun but never in online games, and Autohotkey has millions of uses that have nothing to do with cheating but it’s automatically assumed that it’s being used to cheat if it’s running in the background.
You’re glossing over what I said, there are literally anticheats that will scan your system and ban you just for having those installed. That’s bullshit. Also, there’s no reason not to use Reshade on competitive games, I use it to make the colors and sharpening better and I use it on tons of competitive games. Not that I play Valorant because I hate hero/champion games.
Well it must have worked. All I heard for months when it came out was how bad everything about it was, then I finally got it myself and it quickly became one of the top favorite games of my life. Sorry for everyone who had a bad experience because I loved it so much.
I legitimately never thought twice about them because I thought you could only play shitty Facebook games with them, but you can play real games on Steam? How are the controllers?
LMFAO, a lot of you guys sound so fucking bitter and I don’t understand. I used a Vive years ago and it was so much fun, zero nausea the very first time I played it and I played it for hours. The tech has only gotten better and better. Stay mad. 😂
Edit: Accidentally said Rift when I actually meant the HTC Vive. It was awesome.
Good to know. They don’t have cameras you put around the room right? How is the tracking? I worry about it losing tracking a lot when the controllers aren’t in view.
Valve may not be the cheapest by any means, but that’s because they’re offering a product 30x as valuable. The other launchers companies have are shit, across the board, nothing but shit. It’s not even in the same continent. If any one of these companies actually wants to ever see this change, they are going to have to set their greed aside. That’s impossible for CEOs in this day and age, so I don’t see Steam ever losing their stranglehold unless they do an about-face from everything they’ve done so far. In the grand scheme of things, Valve is one of the most customer friendly companies on the face of the Earth and they continue to be innovative and supportive to users. Epic on the other hand is everything wrong with capitalism, and much the same can be said for any of the other companies with competing launchers/game stores.
The day Gabe dies and pathetic bastards with business degrees take over and ruin everything that’s made Steam great for all these years, is the day I begin pirating everything.
I don’t even play games that have Denuvo. But I’m happy to see many of them remove it after a few years because they can’t afford to keep paying for their game to literally be worse and several had been cracked (although it’s my understanding that only one person was cracking those games).
