JimmyMcGill,

Yea, playing as a no name witcher, doing Witcher things would be cool af

JimmyMcGill,

I played through the whole game with my gf and didn’t see nor read anything that would indicate that.

Regardless of if you play, solo or with up to 4 people there are 4 characters in your party. Your main character can be one of the predefined ones or not. You will probably have/want a mix of both.

First play through will take more than 100h and you will still have plenty to see for subsequent playtroughs. It’s literally impossible to see all of it first time regardless of how you play.

Just get it, it’s not just a GOTY, it’s one of the best games in a long while.

JimmyMcGill,

Oh I loved Hades so I’ll be getting this very soon. Maybe once I’m done with Sekiro this will be the next I’ll play.

At this point I’ll never finish Nier Replicant…

JimmyMcGill,

BG3 with my GF. After almost 200h we are closing the wrapping out first play through.

Alone I recently started Nier Replicant after having played Automata last year. Different feel to it and the quests are fairly basic atm (go here, do that) but I owe it to the developers to play it.

JimmyMcGill,

That would work

We play it on my pc which is wired directly to the tv. We use 2 XBOX controllers but PS4 ones will work just as well.

You will probably want to have a pretty big screen because it’s almost always split screen (except in some dialogues if that other player listens to the convo). However you can always set the fonts to a bigger size which is super helpful.

Unfortunately it’s not like DOS 2 where the split screen merges when you are close together but that’s not the end of the world. The game has turn based combat so even if you have some streaming delays it’s not a big deal.

Your frame rate will drop a bit on Act 3 but it gets better with every patch.

If you have any more questions let me know.

JimmyMcGill,

Have fun!!

JimmyMcGill,

Steam UI is messy but they have a ton of functionality in their store/system. Epic took ages to even get a functioning cart, Steam has tons of features which are not even tied to the games in their store like remote play and Steam VR. Family sharing is also really cool for example. Also Steam basically killed piracy for a long time due to amazing Steam sales + convenience of use.

JimmyMcGill,

My save must be bugged. Still haven’t managed to bang anyone. Not even Halsin despite a bunch of them saying they are interested.

JimmyMcGill,

I’m already there…

JimmyMcGill,

Does it improve towards the end? I was playing it and got about half way but stopped. The world is beautiful but the quests are boring af. It’s a movie with repetitive actions from time to time.

JimmyMcGill,

I saw it the other day and it looked pretty interesting. RPG, turn based combat, multiple characters ticks a bunch of boxes for what me and my gf usually play but then I saw it doesn’t have coop/multiplayer. But it might come out soon so I will definitely get it when that happens. The game seems pretty cool and highly rated.

JimmyMcGill,

DotA 2 is definitely at the top

For the other two slots it would be something between Portal, Witcher 3 and NieR Automata.

JimmyMcGill,

You can also just not buy the game if it has micro transactions. It’s the same V logic

JimmyMcGill,

Still wish that they would ditch Epic entirely at least for EA but oh well.

JimmyMcGill,

Is there already an active lemmy community for Hades? If so I need the link asap.

Will get this day 1. Long time fan of supergiant games and Hades was a masterpiece so I’m excited to be part of Hades II from the start.

JimmyMcGill,

I’m halfway through RDR2 and the gameplay is boring af. Ok not all gameplay, mostly the quests. The world is amazing, and it’s quite immersive indeed but 90% of the quests are, go here, shoot some guys, come back.

JimmyMcGill,

Bladur’s gate 3 is awesome but if you can wait, do so and you will have a much more seamless experience in the near future once more patches come out.

My recommendation is the following.

NieR Automata. It’s a masterpiece of a game with innovation all over the place. Trust me, it’s much more of a JRPG with some hot chicks. Go in blind and you will have an amazing experience.

On a similar note, Death Stranding. The story is less cohesive and honestly as a game it isn’t as good either but I still maintain that it is a game that everyone must try at least once. It’s not one of the best games I’ve played, by far but I am 100% happy that I played it.

Last recommendation is Hades. Flawless game with incredible amounts of polish.

P.S. all these games have AMAZING soundtracks

JimmyMcGill,

I’m already waiting for a discount to buy the first game

JimmyMcGill,

Playing BG3 with my gf. We’re having a blast.

Alone I’m playing Motorsport Manager. And old game and nothing like football manager that I played a lot in the past. It’s not great, it’s basic and I know I will only do a couple of seasons but it has been keeping me up at night and going to bed late so that counts as something. I’m definitely having fun and it’s a chill game.

A couple of months ago I was playing RDR2 but I stopped about halfway and haven’t gone back to it. The game is ridiculously good looking and the world is great but honestly the gameplay is such a slog. Most quests are basic af. I wonder how it got this much praise tbh

JimmyMcGill,

I mean you have a 3070 with a 1080p monitor. It would be a failure if any game didn’t run well on those specs. 1440p is more logical setup. 4K a challenging one.

JimmyMcGill,

Definitely get a decent 1440p monitor with high refresh rate and GSync and then you are set. If you get it used it probably won’t even be that expensive (that’s how I got mine around 2 years ago).

Monitors last a long time so it’s not something that you will just toss, and a 3070 with 1080p is such a waste imo

JimmyMcGill,

Honestly if you don’t have an SSD save 50$ and get one. Especially for crappier pcs it’s the most significant upgrade you can do and not even for gaming. 10 years ago SSDs were somewhat niche. They were expensive as well. Now I won’t even touch a computer without one basically.

JimmyMcGill,

I could have lived with the bugs and poor performance, but the game was shallow af and very much different from what we were sold for years.

It was basically the we have X at home meme, but with a meta twist.
