Cuttlersan,

“Hey there, Jeff” (0.0) that bit had me stuck for a month until I decided to push through it!

Video Game Developers Are Leaving The Industry And Doing Something, Anything Else - Aftermath (aftermath.site)

Remember, every time you read about 10, or 100, or 1000 layoffs in the video game industry, they’re not cold statistics. Every one of those figures is a person. A life that has been upended, with enormous consequences for not just the individuals directly involved but their family and friends. Every single person affected by...

Cuttlersan,

Maybe it’s time you made your own project (if you’re up to it) :) time to serve that quality bisque in a bowl deserving of it lol besides, things will never change if we stay the route with Jack Welch-esque CEOs running the show; we need more indie devs, more small businesses, people who want to make something great because they’re passionate, or even just folks who want a sustainable future without strangling ourselves with the noose of “line must go up” mentality.

But also that’s a metric ton of work, and owning a project like that is certainly a risk to take!

Cuttlersan,

No problem! :) If you do opt to try making something yourself I’m sure the folks here at Lemmy would be more than happy to check it out and give you some feedback!

Cuttlersan,

Well, looks like I won’t be playing Subnautica 2 lol

What games would you reccomend to someone who really enjoyed Industries of Titan and was immensely disappointed by it's incomplete release? angielski

What the title says. If I was to best describe what I liked so much about it, I would say that it was how it had both a serious ‘cozy factor’ (ex: anno 1800) while still being difficult and requiring effort+skill to win. What other games scratch that itch?

Cuttlersan,

The other two are obviously good, but seriously try Captain of Industry! Nothing like watching your mining operations slowly but surely terraform the face of your island lol

Players who don't like survival games as a genre: Which survival games are your personal exceptions, which ones have you enjoyed nonetheless and why? angielski

Personally, I really don’t like most of these games due to the tedium and frustration that comes with hunger/thirst mechanics. Most of the exceptions that I do actually like either make up for it through something else that elevates the experience enough - or they either don’t have these mechanics or allow for players to...

Cuttlersan,

And don’t forget you can play the whole thing in VR with the VHVR mod! I’ve played 330+ hours over 3 runs with my friends in VR, beating the Queen while panicking into repeated freefalls into pit (thank you feather cloak) was an insane experience (Yag too TBF; out of our 3 person group everybody died at least once, and several times the lone survivor was stuck doing laps with hordes of Fulings and a few berserkers and shamans in the parade until the others sprinted back from their beds.) Blessings to corpse run lmao

Steam Deck Owners: What’s been your favorite game that you first discovered on Steam Deck and now you can’t seem to put down?

Looking for those games that you may have heard about but never tried until you got a Deck. Or old games on systems you never had that you’re trying for the first time. Or new AAA games that just released in the last year or two that you picked up for the first time specifically to play on Steam Deck and have kept you glued to...

Cuttlersan,

Really enjoying Stranded: Alien Dawn! 3D Rimworld in a nutshell lol that or Songs of Syx!

Cuttlersan,

Not quite what you’re looking for, but I think you might enjoy Worldbox for a nice and relaxed, long-term game! It’s a fun god game with the twist that the inhabitants of your worlds are alive and doing their own thing, be that farming, building cities and kingdoms, forming empires, or making alliances and waging wars all without your input (although you can meddle in the affairs of the world as much as you wish). It’s free (with a single $7 premium purchase if you love the game and want to support the dev).
