Croquette,

I got brain damage reading your dumb post.

We know you are a dum dum because you use the term woke unironically.

Croquette,

Might be that the CEO and upper management are dumb fucks running the company to the ground.

No more innovation, just microtransactions in shitty games, and the same old rehashed concepts.

Croquette,

There is no point of starting the chart to 0 since it doesn’t give any information other than the share price, which is already communicated by the Y axis anyways.

Croquette,

Yes, but it is not acceptable in today’s capitalism. Only the growth of growth matters.

If the line does not go up enough, the company is failing.

Croquette,

The comparison is valid, but doesn’t mean it infringes on any patent.

Otherwise, FromSoftware would sue the shit out of every soulslike out there.

Croquette, (edited )

I haven’t played for years, but from what I remember, the posture damage is shit. There are moments where the Corrupted Monk is open after an attack I think. This is the moment to strike.

Edit: it took me back haha, but there are those big attacks where you have a red symbol over your head, you dodge that attack and strike.

Croquette,

I’m not a game dev, so I am asking naively this: why is networking code for games not standardized?

It’s crazy to me that so many companies develop their own netcode instead of pooling resources to create a library once and for all for netcode.

It is a non-trivial thing to develop, so everyone would gain from having a framework and library ready to use that works well and can be implemented into any game.

In the end, the information exchange is done between the client and the server and the application layer can have any packets it needs.

Croquette,

That’s a naive take. Microsoft saw that there is money to make in AA games, so they want in on the action.

If they didn’t think that AA games could increase their profits, they wouldn’t do it.

Croquette,

It depends on the actor. When you have an actor, like Gary Oldman for example, that really transform into its role, they can play in an infinite number of movies and they won’t get boring.

But actors, like The Rock or Kevin Hart, that just play themselves over and over again get tiring fast.

Croquette,

Always is. They went too far. They scale back and try again when the dust has settled.

Oldest trick in the books

Croquette,

They don’t give a fuck. The worst that can happen is that the CEO has a golden parachute.

The greed is strong.

Croquette,

Always assume that corporate decisions benefits the corporation. If decisions somehow align with customers needs and wants, it’s a positive side effect.

I

Croquette,

I just wish that I could start at a higher difficulty on Grim Dawn with the appropriate scaling. I don’t want to do the campaign 3 times just like old days.

Croquette,

I don’t know, haven’t played with that feature. The campaign with expansion is long enough that it was a pain to go through it to get to endgame.

It’s a good thing that you can skip that.

Croquette,

Bloodborne and Sekiro are faster than dark souls, so makes sense that you liked them since you didn’t like the slowness of dark souls.

Great games all around.

Croquette,

The games then were closer to embedded dev than software dev. The cartridge had huge limitations and the devs had to know those limits and work around them.

Unity issue an apology on Twitter for "confusion and angst" over the runtime fee policy. (nitter.net) angielski

We have heard you. We apologize for the confusion and angst the runtime fee policy we announced on Tuesday caused. We are listening, talking to our team members, community, customers, and partners, and will be making changes to the policy. We will share an update in a couple of days. Thank you for your honest and critical...

Croquette,

The conventional wisdow is that in time of economic turmoil, companies should lower their profit margins and weather out the storm.

However, in today’s capitalism, this is not not acceptable. Shareholders demand ever increasing profits and anything short of that is considered a failure. If you don’t keep your margin, you are to be scolded and discarded.

Now, the loans that many of the companies have cost a lot more money than 2 years ago. So the enshittification is used to enable the continued growth to keep the profits growings.

Croquette,

I went the other way around. I went all in with my energy sword. Stayed mid air under it as much as possible to use the rockets. When the second blade combo attack hits, it get staggered and you just pummel the boss. Rince and repeat

Croquette,

There is a metric fuckton of slot machine games on the playstore. This game, which isn’t gambling, is being limited while other slot machine games aren’t.

It would be different if the policy was applied equally to other apps as well.
