Nah, people are reaching on this one. There’s a lot of reasons to be mad at Nintendo. Cartoony proportions being a low key hint at GenAI is not one of them
Yeah, I do. A bunch of consolidations is AAA companies have left us steps away from a monopoly on publishers. Given the lack of competition, these big companies have gotten lazy and keep releasing the same shit over and over, some of it ripoffs, some of it remasters. People are getting fed up with it and their easy cash cows are now less profitable than they were.
Instead of changing their plans, they’re firing people. Because the only ones in charge are MBAs, not people who know what their products even are.
Another AAA game I want planning to play getting delayed doesn’t say anything about the games industry. Haven’t been excited about a AAA game in many years now. Everything is a bland cookie cutter sequel, remaster, or battle pass loot box multiplayer arena thingy.
It’s a privilege to work for a shitty mega corporation making substandard pay for the skills you have?! And those mega corps routinely buy up the small studios, so it’s not like people have to even seek out employment with them to end up working for them.
This is an incredibly stupid attempt to bring games into a situation or is not involved in at all.
Young men have been driven right because a portion of the left have been really bad with their messaging and like to generalize a bit much about men being the source of social problems, despite young men being just as much victims to the billionaires who have been buying up our politicians to undermine our rights for decades. Society still has an outsized expectation for men to be the providers, despite women overtaking them in college degrees allowing them to often earn more.
The right wing preying on these ostracized people who often frequent gaming communities isn’t them taking gaming seriously. It’s them recognizing a hunting ground for manipulatable desperate people who want some kind of change.
You can tell this survey was filled out almost entirely by millennials by this collection. Almost all games that came out during their childhood or their young adult years, except those 2 they’re playing right now. And pong.
It’s still an argument, given that this historically wasn’t the case. And Mac used to have a bigger share of the pie. Do they even make Mac only games anymore?
But those numbers pretty much prove my point. Unless you’re already set up to be making games specific to a system, there’s no point in starting from scratch to only name something for 1-2% of the market.
