The game is great and easily the best japanese fighting game experience for casuals. (Mechanically I prefer anime fighters though.) For once a Japanese game has all the bells and whistles instead of almost purely focusing on the multiplayer.
The cosmetics are what they are. At least it’s not p2w but it’s up to consumers to not spend if they don’t agree with paying more in a game they already bought.
Edit: downvote me all you want but the truth is that street fighter 6 was a very big step forward for japanese fighting games in terms of what they offer consumers. The fgc hasn’t had games that can truly appeal to and bring in new players so I can’t help but be happy for it. The only exceptions would be NRS’s games and smash.
Maybe I should finish the game, before the patch and then after, to experience the differences!
… Who am I kidding, I will probably procrastinate playing, since my backlog is too long and then maybe play it in September. Looking forward to the DLC, it sounds great!
I have no idea how they could drop the ball so hard for a remaster. They give the project to their indian studio, it didnt look good but at least it seem it worked. And now the project is canceled and i never heard of any ubisoft game that came ou of thoses indian studio. What the hell hapened ?
Good showing for E33 but I’m not convinced it’s a shoo-in for GotY. It’s a media-run event and the press adored Hades 2. Plus there’s always the Kojima factor and it would be the first time TGA’s ever given it to a studio’s first game.
Looking at the sheer number of nominations e33 has gotten, I would be absolutely shocked if it didn’t win game of the year.
It’s defined as “Recognizing a game that delivers the absolute best experience across all creative and technical fields.”
While that’s pretty nebulous a definition on its own, the fact that seemingly every other creative and technical field has its own award category, and E33 is nominated for most of them, speaks to it being a shoe-in for the GOTY category.
Some AI or central computer going haywire and destroying everything is, like, the third or fourth stock RPG trope just behind the Dark Lord burning down the protagonist’s village in the first act or the mysterious waif girl actually turning out to be a princess.
Games writers maybe. There haven’t been 1200 games journalists operating at the same time ever. There were a lot of people at a lot of sites simply regurgitating news, but that is definitely not what a journalist is. They are extremely different disciplines.
