That was my reaction as well. I wonder if they’re just trying to reassure people since they announced today they’re discontinuing online services for Wii U and 3DS.
That sounds like “guys we’re totally not going to announce the Switch 2 soon, don’t worry, we still support the OG Switch so you can still buy consoles and games for Christmas, k? Don’t need to wait for the next console, that totally doesn’t exist.”
Just before Hyenas was cancelled they jacked up the price of DLC for the final game in the very popular total war warhammer franchise with less content. The allocation of resources to Hyenas is also taken as part of the reason the third installment in TWW was so buggy
Gotcha. On its face, $30 expansion content for a strategy game is pretty common though. A friend of mine also pointed out that they probably ought to have been funneling those resources toward Yakuza/Like a Dragon also, since that series has been a workhorse for them lately. Personally, their inability to keep those games at a constant level of production value is one of a few deterrents for me to dive into the series.
This is promising! I'm glad to see that the expansion has revitalized the love for Cyberpunk. I really hope they keep expanding on this franchise, Night City is just too good of an environment to not have those amazing stories put into the spotlight.
I just saw it on the PlayStation store on sale for like $50. May as well just give it away at this point and I still won’t play it, it’s silly they’re charging that much for it still, especially since the devs shut down
A German Youtube channel named Game Two, did a documentation about what went wrong and released it this weekend. Like the Developers they are based in Hamburg and did many interviews with former employees. It’s linked in the article but unfortunately only available in German.
