I thought the game was alright overall, but it certainly did not feel like a Dragon Age game. The overall story was decent, however a lot of the dialogue was hamfisted. The real problem was that the gameplay felt like Jedi Survivor without the refined combat mechanics. As a result, combat quickly became tedious and repetitive. I also found that the NPCs were more or less fungible, and it really didn’t matter who was in your party. This is a stark contrast with previous Dragon Age games where the whole fun was in scripting the behavior of different characters and coming up with clever ways of combine their abilities. Simply having kept the original mechanics, warts and all, would’ve resulted in a far better game in my opinion.

Oh yeah, GRIS was fantastic as well. I really love their art direction in both games.

I started it, and it’s pretty challenging. The fighting mechanics are good though, so if you’re in for a challenge then it’s definitely a solid game.

Personally, I just don’t have time or energy to play big AAA games for the most part. I very much prefer smaller indie games nowadays, and Steam Deck has those in spades. I would wager a lot of older gamers are in the same boat.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. SC2 is still one of my favorite RTS in terms of mechanics, I’d definitely play something that’s similar. Torchlight was basically Diablo as well, but still a very fun game in its own right.

Training the models initially is expensive, but running them can be done on commodity hardware nowadays.

It’s rather amusing how everything people fear happening under communism comes to pass under capitalism in one way or another. Turns out that it is the capitalists who aim to strip individuals of their personal property by transforming everything into a rental service. You see, you no longer possess your media, books, computer, phone, or any other device; they’ve all been transformed into internet-connected subscriptions. The moment you cease paying or when the company decides to discontinue its services, you find yourself in quite an unfortunate predicament.
