OW2 got way better in the past year that I'd say it's a good f2p game, it deserved all the bashing on launch but once they went back on locking heroes and actually started adding new content it's worth a play. Lemmy hates live service though so nobody is going to let you say it out loud without getting mass downvoted.
Yes, reverse engineering is totally legal. The big asterisk here is that you can't distribute any assets the company owns, so you need the original game files regardless to play the decompiled version.
Decompilation is definitely the path forward. Not only does it preserve games and allow you to play enhanced native versions, they're totally legal and won't get you into hot water. I played Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time at 60fps and it was glorious.
I'd argue their timing was very fortunate since GTA 6 got pushed to next year. That game would've dominated the popularity votes on all the GOTY shows.
The next update after this one should be the official release out of early access, I can't wait!
The trailer also shows the extreme measures counterpart for Hades 2 (powered up bosses), and wow they look more punishing than the first game. The third boss being surrounded by lava will be a nightmare.
Multiple new scylla songs too, Supergiant are spoiling us.
Before when someone was toxic we would just permaban them from our servers, but modern games don't want to lose customers so people that say slurs just get a slap on the wrist.
From what I've seen, it's the latter. It's a very mediocre GTA clone that's full of bugs and is very forgettable in every way. The writing is also very bad.
Or the developers created a roadmap of updates in 2024 for their early access game then disappeared without any warning and didn't deliver on their promises. It's not the end of the world but writing negative reviews because the developers didn't deliver isn't entitlement.
