milicent_bystandr,

Yes! Great fun game. Crashes for me every so often in Windows now, which is a pain especially for skirmishes because you can’t save. Have installed in Linux now but haven’t tested much - maybe it’ll work better!

I always loved the combot customisation aspect, but it seems my favourite load-out and team has changed since I played so many years ago, back when one borrowed a friend’s CD.

milicent_bystandr,

How are you getting upvotes? People like it but haven’t heard of it? I want to upvote… but by the rules of the thread I have down-voted you.

I really like the non-micro-management mechanism of Globulation 2, though I seem to remember it’s a bit awkward sometimes in how it makes combat work.

And balancing upgrades to not run out of food, I’m not so sure about. I want to upgrade my globs! Always! Then they starve!

The last few times I’ve installed it, though, I always get early segfaults, usually before I can finish a game. Hope it can get some dev love.

milicent_bystandr,

Nah, no one likes lives in that part of Australia. Pluto sitting there just means drivers from Perth to Sydney have to take a little detour.

milicent_bystandr,

Came here to say Simon Tatham’s puzzles.

I also like, from f-droid, Tower Jumper, and from Play, hillclimb racing.

  • seen much praise of mindustry here on Lemmy, but not got into it myself
  • rabbit escape is like lemmings/pingus
  • I like go, but play casual. CrazyStone on Play works well for me. It’s doing something with the internet on startup, probably benign model updates, but I block its internet access.
  • I also remember Doom and Destiny being very fun and fairly casual. The free version is not too bad on ads. The second one I never got far in - felt like it was constant ads interrupting gameplay
milicent_bystandr,

I mean, they get their arses handed to them by people better than them anyway. I understand the ranking system is something of a dark magic fudge, but it should roughly put you with/against people who have a similar chance of winning as you, right? If people play with cheats, they get to pretend they’re better than they are (ooh, look at me up here in silver, ooh), but then they fit in with others who, with or without cheats, match a similar level.

milicent_bystandr,

And dogs, IIRC from a Standup Mathematician episode

Good gaming experiences with no HUD? angielski

I’m starting to find that HUDs in games clutter the screen and take away from being fully immersed in the game. I like games that force you to pay attention to what’s going on in the game and not numbers/markers on the edges of the display. What are some of your favorite games to play with no HUD? Here are a few of mine:...

milicent_bystandr,

I used to play Skyrim with a mod that turned off the HUD. Can’t remember the name. I switched off extra options, and it became quite fun sneak-archering with neither crosshairs nor stealth indicator nor enemy radar dots.
