carotte, do games w Happy Birthday!
carotte, do games w Nintendo’s Switch Mario Galaxy collection will retail for $70

in 2020, they made people pay 60$ for 3 old games. people thought it was ridiculous.

in 2025, they’re making you pay 70$ for 2 old games.

lmao

carotte, do games w 'An embarrassing failure of the US patent system': Videogame IP lawyer says Nintendo's latest patents on Pokémon mechanics 'should not have happened, full stop'

nah, death to all intellectual property. it’s not better when it’s physical. in fact, in some cases, it’s much much worse; like with medicine patents

carotte, do games w Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Official Nintendo Switch Trailer

they didn’t include galaxy 2 in 3d all stars to make the suckers double dip 5 years later lol

anyways, if anyone here has decompilation knowledge and wants to help, the original mario galaxy has a decomp project and they have 21% of the code decompiled!

carotte, do games w Former Pokémon Company head lawyer says yeah, those latest Nintendo patents are a bit much, aren't they

i wonder tho, why are they going after palworld specifically? cause palworld is faaaar from being the first pokemon-inspired game, and id argue it’s not even the best one

and it can’t just be the plagiarized design allegations (which, tbf, some pals are really on the limit, not that it’s a bad thing), because if it was they’d just use their existing copyright instead of filing tons of new patents

death to intellectual property

carotte, do games w Nintendo Direct announced for September 12

nintendo directs were always advertisements, it’s kinda their goal: to advertise to you upcoming nintendo products

I guess Iwata and Reggie made them more pleasant to watch, but they were still ads

carotte, do games w Nintendo Direct announced for September 12

even if you’re a nintendo fan, you don’t have to tune in to 1 hour of advertisements, you know

i promise, once it’s over you’ll find out about all announcements you care about in other ways

carotte, do games w Hollow Knight: Silksong - Release Date Trailer (September 4)

so far, I haven’t encountered a game marked platinum on protonDB where the GOG version didn’t also work

and really, unless the steam and GOG versions of a game are radically different, i don’t see why the Linux compat should be different

the only way protonDB will fail you is if a game is on GOG but not steam; protonDB (frustratingly) only lists steam games

carotte, do games w Elden Ring on Switch 2 Is a Disaster in Handheld Mode - IGN

elden ring released on PS4 and xbox one, consoles which are (on paper) less powerful than the switch 2

the game ran fine there

carotte, do games w Elden Ring on Switch 2 Is a Disaster in Handheld Mode - IGN

the switch 2 is ARM based, not x86. idk the intricacies of the switch 2 GPU when compared to mainstream nvidia graphics cards, but I’d guess there are major differences between a mobile APU and a big boy PC GPU

technically capable of running software… but just barely.

come on now.

carotte, do games w Elden Ring on Switch 2 Is a Disaster in Handheld Mode - IGN

well optimized for the steam deck (or for PCs, really)

carotte, do games w Elden Ring on Switch 2 Is a Disaster in Handheld Mode - IGN

time for the switch 3!

…or time for developers to rediscover the long lost art of Optimization

carotte, do games w We’re Suing Minecraft in a Class Action Lawsuit

i hope he wins the lawsuit (the forced migration with no refunds was very bad), but dammit that guy sounds insufferable.

in the first video, one of his main motivators for starting the lawsuit, was that he made a server with guns, mojang made servers with guns against their eula, but just after this guy paid the 1000$ for the twitter gold checkmark on his server’s account…

mojang making shitty eula decisions sucks, but is it grounds to sue? idk
