Idk there is something I miss about older games where I slowly got better until I was the person on top of the scoreboard.
Also SBMM has some problems for better players depending on the implementation, at the end of the ranking bell curve it stops working. Often the skill difference between a top 100k player and a top 1k player is the same as between a top 1k and top 100 player.
But the top 1k all fall within the same matchmaking pool, even if it leads to unfair games.
Currently experiencing this within The Finals where I regularly get put against a full stack of top 20 players while either solo or duo q myself (were top 2500).
More likely higher ranked players finally figured out that keeping harmony within your team does wonders for your chance at winning. The amount of infighting I’ve had to stop just to save my elo is insane, why would i start something just because of someone’s gender.
I realise i must be an edge case but i think my steam account of 10+ years is positive money wise. Got thousands of hours in the same few games and sold my old €100 CS inventory for about €500 PayPal when the market boomed.
The amount of money I’ve spent on my system to play those few games at more fps tho, lets not calculate.
I play on pc so aim assist isn’t really something I encounter a lot outside obvious cheaters, but aim assist in general isn’t something that should exists outside of singleplayer imo.
There are some hardware scalers that work really well. But most that offer good compatibility with a wide range of older consoles cost about as much as a complete high end pc to run an emulator on.
Can only speak for the higher ranks of both games but cs2 is currently unplayable above 25k elo since its almost guaranteed to have 1 out of 10 players cheating. While i only encounter a few cheaters each season in immortal in Valorant.
