Rhaedas, do astronomy w The amazing helicopter on Mars, Ingenuity, will fly no more

Between that or blimps on Mars and other planets, it's almost a given to have something with any new exploration. Just like rovers are so much better than a fixed location for a one-shot deal.

Rhaedas, do games w Earth will be destroyed in 12 minutes...

There were a number of books back then like that (mysteries and such), with the idea that you only revealed the answers to things you couldn't figure out.

As for the game itself, the one part that I have a continued memory about is where you could press the button labeled "Do Not Press". Only doing it a few times gave you the same "nothing happens" message, but being persistent got a different one. Infocom games were so great and full of humor, even the non-Douglas Adams ones.

Obviously NASA engineers don't ever go to Youtube, I'm sure looking up "asteroid sampler stuck" there would have been a number of hack DIYers who showed a variety of techniques they've used.

Rhaedas, do games w Video game actors speak out after union announces AI voice deal
@Rhaedas@kbin.social avatar

New creations from existing training data from an actor should have some type of royalties involved. The complication with that is the AI tools are largely a black box and it can be murky on where things come from.

Rhaedas, do gaming w Starfield and Baldur’s Gate 3 Revive Age-Old RPG Debate About Encumbrance
@Rhaedas@kbin.social avatar

That's not even realistic. I know that Starfield isn't meant to be a simulator, but if you put in something to try and be "real", you should do it right. Gravity would affect the weight of something, but the inertia is still the same. Moving and stopping a big object in space with no gravity at all is still hard to do.
