PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do gaming w Unrelated, but we ran out of time and the campaign is only 7hrs

Yeah, the durability on every single weapon in BOTW/TOTK could have been quintupled and the game would have been better for it.

It was so bad that you couldn’t even kill a Lynel with their own weapon before the weapon broke. You had to abuse glitches just to make it through the fight with the same weapon they were using against you.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do games w Currently downloading The Witcher 3 for the first time. Got any advice for me?

Yeah, the intro is honestly awful. The game suffers from some major Kingdom Hearts 2 Syndrome. The goal is to teach you how larger Witcher contracts work, but it just slogs and there’s very little plot development for the first few hours of the game. The plot picks up once you get out of the starting area and to the Bloody Baron, so withhold judgement until you get to that point.

Also, the combat can be rough in the early game, but the difficulty quickly tapers off as you begin leveling up. By the end of the game, you’ll be mowing through enemies even on the Death March difficulty.

And in general: Dodge monsters, parry humanoids. Many of the monsters have attacks that are too large or erratic to reliably parry, but you can abuse the hell out of the I-frames from dodging. But soldiers go down much faster when you parry them.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do games w What is your favorite Assassin's Creed game?

Plot: The Ezio trilogy.
Core Gameplay: Black Flag/Rogue.
Replay value: Odyssey.
I just want to chill out after a long day: Odyssey.
I actually want to get sucked into the setting and characters: Black Flag.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do gaming w Someone has to keep the retro spark alive

The “actively using” part is my conspiracy theory on why Disney has recently made so many live action remakes. They need to be able to show that they’re still using their copyrights and trademarks, so they’re just rehashing all of their old movies as live action. It doesn’t matter whether or not it’s good, because the company is just trying to maintain their IP holdings.

Similar to why they added Steamboat Mickey to their intro. They wanted to show that they were still using it, so they just slapped it in as part of their intro. The only reason that fell through was because they failed to bribe enough lawmakers soon enough, and missed the deadline to vote to extend copyrights.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do gaming w Do you know any singleplayer games that are infinitely replayable?

I think you dropped these.

At one point I was playing so much Factorio that I started seeing conveyor belts and assembly machines in my sleep

Factorio and RimWorld immediately come to mind. Even with the base unmodified game, you’ll likely get several weeks of gameplay out of Factorio. Then if you dive into modding, you’ll never put it down. Multiplayer is really nice too. And their big DLC just got announced, and is planned to drop in a few months. So now would actually be a great time to dive in, because you’ll get access to the DLC about the same time that you’ve burned through the content on the base game.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do gaming w Peak graphic design

The C-stick and Z bumper are the two big weaknesses. If it had a proper twin-stick design instead of the C-stick nub, and actual bumpers that felt good, it would hands down be the best controller ever designed.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, (edited ) do games w $843 million lawsuit against Valve already has its own website: "The Steam Claim" accuses the biggest store in PC gaming of "overcharging" players

Which is deceptive, at best. Steam doesn’t have pricing clauses for developers’ games. The devs are free to sell their games anywhere they want, at whatever prices they want. But Steam does have pricing clauses for Steam keys. Basically, what allows you to register a game to your Steam account.

You can sell your game for whatever price you want, as long as it’s not the Steam version of the game. They don’t want you giving away Steam keys for cheaper than you can often buy them on Steam. And this makes sense; Steam has a vested interest in protecting their own game keys, and encouraging players to shop on a storefront that they know is reputable; Lots of steam key resellers are notoriously shady, for instance.

Basically, the dev can go sell it cheaper on GoG, or Epic, or their own storefront if they want. As long as they’re not selling Steam keys, they’re fine. But players like having games registered to their Steam accounts, because it puts everything in one place. So devs may feel shoehorned into selling Steam keys (which would invoke that pricing clause) instead of selling a separate version that isn’t registered to Steam. But that doesn’t mean Steam is preventing publishers from selling elsewhere, or controlling the prices on those third party sites. It just means Steam has market pull, and publishers know the game will sell better if it’s offered as a Steam key.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do games w The Star Fox-style roguelite whose dev refused to use AI voices to cut costs is adding an entire "anti-capitalist revenge" campaign about a cat-girl destroying AI

It’s honestly giving big Starlight Brigade vibes.

PM_Your_Nudes_Please, do games w After 10,000+ hours grinding, MapleStory's first level 300 player slams the brakes at 299.99 to rant about the MMO and then quit, all on a dev-promoted stream

Yup exactly. They see wasted potential, and that pisses them off. Because there’s something they truly want to enjoy, so watching the devs make seemingly dumb decisions can be incredibly frustrating.

Just get a Steam Deck, install EmuDeck, and run Ryujinx or Yuzu. It runs like a dream on the SD. Like it literally runs better than the actual Switch, with options like unlocked frame rates, mods, and cheats.

I say this as someone who owns two Switches: Just get a Steam Deck instead.

This specifically says that getting banned on a shared account will also ban the owner who shared the game. Likely to prevent exactly what you described, where people could evade bans simply by sharing their library with a throwaway account.

Worth noting that this could also potentially be due to differences in censorship/rating laws across country lines. For instance, Germany has some strict regulations regarding Nazi imagery in media. So games need to have a specific Germany-friendly version if they feature that kind of imagery. And Steam may not be able to serve two different versions of the game with a single license.
