It looks like that’s intentional. It’s trying to capture the vibe of games from the original Half Life era and seems to be doing a fine job from what I can see.

Godot is great at 2D and would be a great replacement for those games but lacks a lot of 3D stuff Unity users would miss. If someone is doing a 2D game tho… Godot is a fantastic option to go with.
Unrelated to video games but Taylor Swift has a song where she threatens to tell the friends of her Ex that he’s gay for breaking up with her. This has since been replaced entirely with a new line and can’t be found on anything but the original 2006 release.
