Difficulty settings are wack. Normal is too easy and hard is way too hard. The slider literally goes from 1x/1x damage taken/damage dealt to 3x/0.6!
This was my only real complaint, other than them taking the noise cue away from lockpicking! I’ve really been itching for an elderscolls game with modern graphics and QOL so I’m super happy.
As for the lockpicking I learned something recently from a video and now I never break a pick. I can’t believe I never knew this:
Basically when you hit one tumbler there are the 3 drop speeds right? You push it up and it falls either slow, med, or quick. They “switch” between those three speeds when the tumbler falls back to the starting position.
If you hit a tumbler up and HOLD up (I’m on controller), or whatever key is up, then the tumbler will bounce slightly in the fully raised position. When it’s like this it will be remaining in the “fall speed” from when you first triggered it. We want it to be the slow fall speed so basically while it’s bouncing if you see any spring between “bounces” it’s too fast, let it fall to the starting position and try again.
If it’s bouncing and you can barely see any movement at all let alone any spring then it’s in the slow position, that’s what we want. When it’s like that watch the lockpick and when the lockpick is moving upwards trigger the lock with whatever the confim button is for you. It should always work!
As far as management goes x4 foundations is an awesome space game! I have hundreds of hours in that game spent just messing around with an industrial empire, buying mining ships, setting trade routes, all that fun stuff. You don’t even have to fight anything if you don’t want to.
Whyyy did they have to make it so much harder?! It’s so unforgiving now and they took away the noise cue! I used to be able to do it without even looking at the screen because you could hear a distinct sound when it clicked into place. Now there are 3 different drop speeds and the sounds are so minimal…
Booooooo… So not today. I’m doubting the same day drop. Knowing marketing asshats they’ll want to run a week or more of advertising first especially if they’re calling this a reveal. :/
NASAs “habitat words observatory” was ment to be the next major telescope after the Roman space telescope, and was meant to have its primary function be the search for extraterrestrial life which would help tremendously with these kinds of situations.
Was being the key word as apparently the shitbag GOP administration decided they want to axe ALL future telescope programs including the Hubble replacement Nany Roman… Scumbags.
Lance or sword and shield might be good to stay a bit safer and learn the monsters. This game series is all about understanding what you’re fighting, they will all have a “tell” when they go to do something. Some might take one step backwards and arch in a specific way, some might make a specific noise, and they’ll always follow with a specific move. You have to understand what they’re going to do so you can figure out how much time you have to attack.
You’re going to die a bunch, but after a while you’ll come to know how the monster you’re fighting will move and it will get easier.
After all that also get to learn the skills that come with armor pieces, you want specific skills to compliment play styles. I don’t remember freedom unite specifically, but for weapons with a shield you’d want a skill called “guard” that improves how blocking works, whether it’s taking less stamina when you get hit or allowing you to block once unblockable moves.
And as others have said, with the older monster hunter games you have to learn “the claw” lol they had absolutely atrocious camera controls
I keep editing as I remember other important things lol there’s a move called the “superman dive” that will save your ass. When your weapon is put away and you’re running AWAY from an attack, you can “roll” but it will make you do a dive that makes you invulnerable for a bit. You cannot be moving towards the monster or it won’t work and you’ll just do a normal roll. I also don’t remember if freedom unite has this as well, but in most monster hunter games you don’t have to get up when you get hit to the ground. If a monster knocks you down and you see they’re following with another move just don’t move, let your character stay down and you shouldn’t get hit.
What is O&O? I’m not to keen on jumping to Linux either, but I REALLY don’t like the idea of having recall active and having Microsuck know literally everything I do…
I appreciate that. I just see it as the typical “people love to attack others online” and I have no desire to try to insult people even if they’re telling me liking chocolate over vanilla is wrong and I’m an asshole for it lol only I know myself, and I know there’s no hatred or misogyny behind my preferences.
