creation engine quests are too easy to break as the game gives you lots of freedom to mess with progression and characters, eventually someone finds another edge case
if you dont test the fuck out of them they will bug out in some way
skyrim and fallout worlds being handmade is one thing people look for in their bethesda games and they went with random generation, destroying large part which makes their games unique and lets you ignore their shit main story writing with the often better side content scattered around
its like how they ruined their dialogue system in fallout 4 with the voiced player and limited mass effect dialog wheel when they had a working, superior system to that
they still got paid and made stuff for their portfolio, while executives get to explain why there is a hundred million missing and entire studios worth of manhours in the void
I remember the game director saying he doesnt want to make the same game twice (when they made eternal focus on using the right weapons and not just shotgun everythign) so this likely a new spin on doom formula again
the engine has some quirks but the platform is irreplaceably easy to edit and easy to use with its plugin system, and conflicts with other plugins are simple to handle unlike majority of games that get modded
without that all you have is a bland game with forgettable story and barely any rpg elements, but gamebryo is replaced by another engine and its own bugs and faults
