This post/ thread has devolved into back and forths and name calling. You can disagree with how a mod on our instance acts, however I have seen no example of a mod acting in any kind of bad way. There was no arguing. She simply shared her view point. She also said she wouldnt do anything to the report against her. I am not sure what more you want. If you ever think we are power tripping, there is a mod log for all to see. I see no use in keeping this thread open for the time being however. Locking this

Well for me it is actually Baldurs Gate 3! I just beat Jedi survivor last night and now have moved on to the zeitgeist that is this game

I get your point. And kind of agree for the most part. But idk, some title screens are nice to look at. Having the option to just view it until I’m ready to go on is nice imo. One button press isn’t all that bad. But yeah when loading or dlc checking has to be done after pressing the button it’s more annoying. That should happen before imo

For me, I just finished pikmin 4 100%!!! I have now moved on to Jedi survivor, which I am having a lot of fun with.

I got it near launch, but it didn’t run super well. I am happy I waited as the game runs much smoother than it did when it came out

It’s not a type of game I often play, but I enjoyed Kittens game a lot. And space plan, while not super long, was also really enjoyable

I mean technically the first was was 1987, but the first 2 games were not super big, and unless you count the weird NES port, only came out in Japan. the first actually big title didn’t come out until 1998. Also definitely do not agree on that Metroid assertion. I thought dread was outstanding. And I am pretty sure its the best selling game in the franchise

Fair enough. I definitely agree that I wish some of their franchises were treated better. Metroid Dread I am hoping is a return to regular games for that series, and Pikmin 4 which I recently finished is also amazing. Not everything is great but there is still some stellar stuff

I am definitely one who typically prefers emulation. The ease of use is just way too nice. Playing things on hardware is always an option for those willing to take the steps necessary to do so.

Another option though that I think worth touching on is hardware emulation, via stuff like the MiSTer project. Reprogrammable boards that allow more accurate hardware emulation of the old consoles is really cool, and helps to be more authentic to the classic experience if that is important to you. You would still need stuff like a crt tv and controllers if you wanted to go all the way. But having 1 board that can be programmed to mimic a bunch of different systems makes it slightly more accessible

Ohh nice I played that one. I agree it’s not nearly as good as the room in my opinion. Idk why exactly, but it just seemed less polished. Still worth it on discount imo though

Nice! Yeah I didn’t even consider the PC price. I played all these games on my phone and I think I got house of davinci for like 99c on sale, so I think that wasn’t a bad price at all haha. I would not be super happy about paying full price yikes.

Yeah I totally get what you mean. Have you had a chance to play the VR room game? I really want to check it out but don’t currently have a headset

Yeah I think VR is cool. I don’t think it’ll take off until they can make a headset that’s actually comfortable to wear for a long time though. I’ve tried a bunch out, and some aren’t that bad. But for prolonged periods it’s just uncomfortable usually. And it makes me not want to set it up again when I know I’ll just get sweaty and irritated after an hour
