The Sims 5 will be Free-To-Download
EA have confirmed that The Sims 4 will continue to be supported on all platforms after the release of The Sims 5.
However while EA refers to The Sims 4 as Free-To-Play they say The Sims 5 will be *Free-To-Download”.
Now I could be reading too much into the subtle change in the wording but it seems odd they don’t refer to the new game as Free-To-Play suggesting that while the game will be available for anyone to download you might not be able to play anything beyond creating a character/family without paying something.
The Sims 5 will receive regular content updates like The Sims 4 however the number of and cost of the DLC for Sims 4 is quite high.
The base game is free but if you want to have the “complete experience” on PlayStation 4 it will cost £1,151.30 to buy all of the DLC available. That’s an obscene amount of money for a game.
Launch platforms for The Sims 5 haven’t been announced yet however it is very likely to come to the PlayStation 5.
