Yes it's possible. Their version of Google Drive (Pan Baidu) is basically a paradise for piracy. But it's a bit of a pain in the ass for foreigners to get access. And obviously everything is in Chinese.
China doesn't care about foreign held copyright. So anything that isn't owned by a Chinese company is fair game. As long as it isn't considered banned material of course.
Watching foreign movies is illegal north korea. They might not care about the right holders, but they certainly care about not letting their citizen watch foreign movies.
BaiduYun's a paradise to host pirated content but not to download. The free tier fucking limits you to double digit KBs per second and the Chinese government will arrest you if you create a script that simply uses aria2 to circumvent that (contrary to many of these Chinese arrest rumors this actually happened).
I just bought a Pi and set this up a couple of weeks ago. I turned my Pi into a NAS using OMV 6 (Open Media Vault - free), installing docker compose and qbittorrent in OMV, also installed gluetun docker in OMV, and then added my, opened a port in AirVpn, and added the port to gluetun and set the network_mode argument in qbittorrent to my gluetun container. Now qbittorrent only connects to my vpn. OMV has extensive documentation for setting it and docker compose up, and the OMV community forum is extremely active.
Libreoffice is the most atrociously structured piece of software I ever encountered. not only is the UI absolutely dated and god awful trash, it can fuck up microsoft office formatted documents. i possess a special hate for it since it decided to crap out on me when I REALLY positively needed it.
You wouldn’t be able to use AdGuard properly with Opera anyway because Opera don’t accept user certificates (issued by AdGuard or AdAway) so it wouldn’t filter https traffic.
Try Vivaldi, amazing browser, built-in adblocker. Hopefully will be better than Opera’s. Personally haven’t tested it as I’m using said AdGuard which Vivaldi has no problem with - one of the reason I moved from Opera to Vivaldi.
Yes, it seems like a really recent term to me. I first heard it when the writers strike began and never before that.
When I think streamer I think of people on Twitch or YouTube who stream themselves. No idea where calling streaming services/sites “streamers” came from but it always confuses me.
Worth noting that paying for a license for software doesn’t stop it being spying malware either. In fact the pirate versions often take out the spying and the reporting-to-homebase that proprietary software does.
The photoshop that phones home to check a license is arguably more malicious than the pirate version that has been cracked so it doesn’t do that.
I have a better idea: Instead of piracy, just don’t use/consume products that are exclusively distributed through shitty business models. At least when it comes to software, that’s much more effective.
Rutracker is very specific in what emails it allows. Emails on my custom domain were already banned, I think they have a whitelist of email domains. I just ended up using my Gmail address, but yeah if you have a protonmail or own domain address I’m guessing you won’t have much success. You also might need to click the email validation link that ends up in spam.
