The PS5 shortage sucked but it helped me play and finish all the PS4 games I wanted to play, except for GoT which I completed recently.

I’m mostly using my PS5 to play PS4 games, if I’m being honest.

I’m not much of a gamer, so games are more like curiosities or toys to me.

I like to get in and see the styles and mechanics, but I don’t have much time patience or skill to complete any of them.

I just appreciate them like art, I guess.

I heard of this “buying” in regards of games, but I’m still a bit confused. There is another way to obtain them than loading and donating?

eek2121, do gaming w A message from your backlog

I would never buy a game again. What is the fun in that? (My backlog of owned, but unplayed or unfinished games is in the thousands)

Redredme, do gaming w A message from your backlog

I cant. Fuck elden ring at this point. Fuck it very much. Its nice, its good. But I’m done dying.

Starfield is a dog. That’s 60 euros down the drain. I never see me complete that.

Telltale the Expanse was good, as a prequel to the show. Not as a game.

God of war is mediocre. That’s not a game. That’s a collection of pretty pictures with a prompt to mash specific button xyz. Another 40 euro lost.

Cyberpunk was and is great. But I’ve completed it 7 or 8 times now. Phantom liberty does break the game though, too many legendary weapons and mods which break the balance. But still, nice story, a lot to do.

I bought something else also this year. That was also shit.

AAA games are shit these days.

Wrench, do gaming w Remember to save often

Reminds me of Suikoden 2. One of the first PS1 titles I picked up. Didn’t even know I needed a memory card to save when I bought it. But my parents couldn’t take me to the store again for a few days, so I just played and kept it on overnight.

About half way through the game is a duel that is basically paper rock scissors. And game over if you lose.

I lost.

Why do you think F5 is on the keyboard?

SinJab0n,

Do I need to be always over the edge wondering if my game is gonna crash In the next minutes ?

No, that’s why I refused to play fallout 4 until some months later when it was fixed.

You could do some dirty things in Bridge Commander. If you disabled the enemy shields I believe one of the actions you could take was transporting people off the ship.

Honestly that tactic is kind of universe breaking - imagine the thing to do is just beam the bridge crew into space with a large transporter; such an easy way to totally knock out a ship.

O’Brien did that in DS9 as a last resort

It has been ages since I played something on PC (I don’t have a gaming one) but that is crazy to me lol.

Is it not possible to just put the .exe files into the desktop (not shortcuts).

The_Picard_Maneuver,
@The_Picard_Maneuver@startrek.website avatar

I know you used to be able to do that, but I don’t think it works anymore.

Shadow,
@Shadow@lemmy.ca avatar

The exe is typically a tiny part of the actual game files, so no.

kratoz29,
@kratoz29@lemm.ee avatar

Perhaps the entire folder of the game on your desktop? I do remember to have done something like that before lol.

bleistift2,

I tried that with Tropico 5. The .exe launches the Kalypso launcher. When you press play, it launches the steam launcher, which then launches the Kalypso launcher again. When you then press play, you get to play the game.

(This is from memory. Details may vary.)

Kecessa,

Depends, DRM free games yes…

wreckedcarzz,

I hear there’s a website for that… amazing how you can get anything drm-free if you know how to sail.
