I forget which nintendo console it is, but emulating’s actually MORE accurate than the console since some ceramic thing is degrading in it. I think its the NES but don’t quote me on it. Was one of the reasons TAS verification was failing on actual hardware when it had previously passed.
Can’t confirm. Still have a working NES, SNES, and N64 from childhood. Not even 40 yet. My grey hair and wrinkles are still confined to my testicles for the time being.
I love my original GameCube. Still have it hooked up to an old tube TV and there’s a lot of nostalgia around putting the little mini-CD in and booting it up. But it’s so much easier to fire up dolphin.
I got a Steam Deck recently and have been surprised at how well the 6th (GC, PS2, Xbox) and 7th (Wii, PS3, 360) generations can be emulated now compared to a few years ago. I hadn’t messed with emulating systems past 5th gen (N64, PS1, Saturn) for many years. It’s wild to me that I can smoothly emulate Dragon’s Crown, a PS4 game I currently have on my PS5, on the Steam Deck if I want, although I chose the PS3 one for less power needed since they’re pretty much identical. Even given it’s a less demanding 2D game, emulating a PS4 is impressive.
I finally finished persona 3 reload. I skipped part of the DLC because more dungeons sounded like torture at that point. But otherwise it was great.
I started playing blue prince and then, after a few hours, realized the name was a play on words for blueprints. Doh. It’s been interesting. I am kind of getting a bit tired of the RNG of filling out the house, but I’m getting enough progress made to keep me going.
I’ve also been playing the oblivion remake, and it’s been a lot of fun! It’s like the ratatouille meme while playing. It’s nice. Oddly cozy
You can get a flash cart if you want to play a game you don’t have a cartridge for on your console. Not particularly cheap, but far cheaper than buying them individually.
