well I guess it was because the person who spearheaded the game project was also someone who liked and knew what games were about. Now that it has become a lucrative industry, the whole dynamics has shifted to something else.
That is a very healthy way of thinking (though lets discuss again when they play Justin Bieber, romantic adventures themed VR game with tons of buyable accessories and asks you money to buy virtual Justin Bieber signed sneakers to impress some virtual girls)
I am currently playing TOME4 on a 64GB machine with NVIDIA RTX A2000 GPU. Although technically this is more like uni for me not childhood, I could probably play this game on a calculator.
Maybe you are right but it is a bit like when search engines are flooded with crap: super annoying. I would any day prefer fewer options of mid to high quality stuff to whatever this is.
