I’ve been doing some market analysis on the viability of indie projects. My brother and I are starting to develop a game after he’s finished up his computer science degree (Im a graphics major BTW). Anyway I slice it, the only way to remain profitable would be to have a small team as possible.
I have no idea why a lot of these companies think that growth is actually going to be better for them in the indie space.
Fallbacks are incredibly common. There are fall backs for Ray Tracing, for example. All of these are optimization.
Lacking this level of optimization from the start was a sham. And Alex helped let them.get away with it.
Thankfully the game flopped, Im sure in no small part to its inaccesibility on a larger range of hardware, so the devs lowered the functional requirements.
Digital Foundry puts tech demo featuresets over a reasonably designed game, every single time. Nvidia relies on these narratives to push wasteful hardware.
John and Richard are the only hosts I care about these days. Alex and Oliver have become insufferable .
I remember Alex not too long ago acting like optimization was not the problem with Alan Wake 2 and that the game truly just needed bigger and better cards to function. These people are so shamelessly pro-corporation. video actually made me irate.
I need to preface this by saying it’s really stupid that anyone’s sending threats, but I think the reason they’re doing it is because Nintendo has made a very hard-line stance against small esport events. You arent allowed to host events without their permission
I’m gonna have to disagree. As somebody who was an Overwatch addict, these games are designed to effectively be like drugs. They are not meant for children and shouldn’t be purported as such.
These are casinos playing in simple.
In fact, it’s much less incentivized for a game that is one and done, even multiplayer titles if they are a paid game.
