I feel like this complaint only applies to other mmoheads coming from endgame in WoW or some other MMO, or already established gamers with little to no experience with MMOs that are trying it out for the first time.
Every MMO is a slow burn at the beginning because you have little to no skills and they’re just trying to introduce you to the characters and the setting.
Meanwhile the literal thousands of newcomers fall in love with the game as soon as they start even when it’s “nothing but fetch quests” or “boring as hell” according to the aforementioned vocal minority.
is it? pretty sure the BR genre is still just dominated by the same big names that have been around for a while
Fortnite, Warzone, Apex, and maybe PUBG. Then you have the adjacent BRs like Naraka, Fall Guys and Rumbleverse (RIP). But again, none of those are new.

It was definitely a gimmick to go with naming the game after the mechanic. But they’ve definitely gone too far with the others. Octopath and Diofield are at least unique words, though Octopath Traveler is equally as on the nose as Bravely Default, oCtO = 8 bE
There’s no excuse for the other two, Triangle Strategy was literally the working title when the game was announced and then they lazed out and didn’t change it. Meanwhile Various Daylife is an atrocity of a game title.
Never understood how this is an argument when reading for fun exists. Specifically when comparing visual novels to books, books don’t tend to have pictures, scenarios, music, sound effects or voice acting. Sometimes reading a book isn’t interesting enough on its own and folks want more.
I can understand liking a game but not liking all the dialogue, I remember Mass Effect 3 had an option for Story, Action or RPG mode and it’d be great if more devs would implement that kinda thing instead of forcing one specific playstyle.
Same thing happened to me recently with their stupid BOGO sale, I bought Xenoblade Chronicles DE and Skyward Sword “New” and they sent me both packages with no plastic wrapping whatsoever, the pre-owned stickers very obviously ripped off and lots of damage to the cases. I went to a brick and mortar to return it and they didn’t reimburse my shipping fees, I had to call customer support for them to give that back to me.
I tried to just buy them new in store and they told me they “don’t carry rare games like that anymore.” I said fuck it, and went to my local Walmart for Xenoblade and Target for Skyward Sword and it cost me less. What a fucking joke. GameStop is trash.
My most recent gripe is with Amiibo, Nintendo literally announced some new ones recently and yet none of their supposed retailers carry them, aside from Amazon who have ridiculous upcharges on them. Went to GameStop and the employees didn’t even know what the fuck I was talking about. So if you can’t buy them directly from Nintendo you’re shit outta luck cuz good luck finding anyone that sells them for retail price.
