You know how your brain kinda has to shift gears in order to “get” portal for the first time? Trying to “get” Reloaded was like rebuilding the whole damn gear system for me.
I finally picked up Exanima after years of being put off by the early access, but damn what a unique and engaging experience. Reminds me of the first time I played Oblivion or Demon’s/Dark Souls.
It’s a game where your own experience as a player is your greatest asset. I highly recommend it for anyone into slow dungeon crawling and looking for a challenge unlike anything else.
One of the first games I remember being genuinely freaked out by. RE remakes are killing it. Silent Hill 2 remake is hugely anticipated. Parasite Eve’s time is coming.
Getting back into Monster Hunter World! Trying to tackle those endgame Iceborne quests and getting my ass kicked quite often. It’s really satisfying getting a good build going with armor set bonuses and stacking skills.
Also finally playing Super Mario Odyssey. What a game. The controls are so tight and responsive. I love exploring every nook and cranny, high and low, and almost always getting some kind of reward out of every effort and idea.
I was almost interested in Season of Discovery but then I remember Blizzard’s (lack of a) policy on bots. For me it really devalues the time and effort I put into the game when a quarter of the playerbase are botting and ruining the economy.
Man I want to love PoE but it seems like you can’t enjoy the game after a certain point (not even close to endgame) without following a build guide which I really dislike doing.
