I mean when a small team with no budget can make a good demo that sells the idea but then can’t complete the project with years and houdreds of thousands what is going on? I backed like 8 kickstarters and only 3 made it out and 1 is saying they are about to be done after 7 years. Also one of the successful one’s shut down because of not enough post launch monetization. I’m still going to help with stuff i believe in after many failures but just not as enthusiastically.
I’ve seen people get pretty good results but i don’t think i had the right settings so i wasn’t able to make it run. I have a 3090 wich is pretty much the minimum for that XD i also tried to run the game in 8K just to see how it would look with no luck. I ended up playing at 4K medium settings for now. I’ll definitely try again tomorrow with someone’s UEVR injector profile.
I played a gatcha game with a friend when we didn’t know what gacha was and we where trying to build our teams by just playing the game and there where always massive difficulty walls that couldn’t be passed. So we both ended up spending around $500 CAD on that game and farming with our phones open on the game 24/7. We stopped after we understood how predatory the model was.
Honestly for me it came down to where i prefer to buy my games. Steam games will follow me for the forseeable future and switch games will not. I gave my coworker my nintendo account too with over $500 of games on it and i was like that’s it. That’s enough sunk cost that i will lose.
I gave away my switch to a coworker because i didn’t really like it to buy a steam deck. So i’d say for me yes they where competitors. I use a lenovo legion go now.
If you like roguelikes like ancient dungeon i would highly suggest until you fall and for a more story based game if you haven’t played lone echo 1 and 2 you’re in for a treat.
