Anivia, do games w Coffeezilla does a third part of his CS:GO gambling expose...where he squarely puts the blame on Valve

No, the app is completely open source and has reproducible builds. And the site you are accessing only gets the information it requested, and you see which information it requested in the app before scanning your ID

It uses the government ID, which has a built in NFC chip. You can use a phone in combination with your ID and it’s pin to verify your age online. The ID scanner app will tell you which parameters the website requests from your ID, and its possible to only request the birthdate.

I don’t like the system, but it is truly anonymous

Anivia, do gaming w Ubisoft is being sued over The Crew in a lawsuit that compares the server shutdown to a bumperless pinball machine

But the rubber bands might be set up in a way that they sticks are slightly off center, at the exact position needed to cancel out the stick drift

Anivia, do gaming w SteamDeck TOP Played list.

It’s a cookie clicker type game that occasionally drops steam items that you can sell on the marketplace for real money. Most of the playtime comes from bots, not actual players, which is why it is so far up the charts

The whole thing is a scam basically

Anivia, do games w Steam's new disclaimer reminds everyone that you don't actually own your games, GOG moves in for the killshot: Its offline installers 'cannot be taken away from you'
@Anivia@feddit.org avatar

Yeah, the only caveat is that you don’t get an installer with steam, so if you copy the installed game onto a pc that doesn’t have all the correct dependencies installed (like the correct DirectX version for example), then the game won’t launch. But it’s not too complicated to install the dependencies manually

Same thing applies to Steam. You don’t need to use the Steam DRM if you don’t want to, it gets added by the developers/publishers. There are plenty of DRM-free games on Steam

Anivia, do games w Why does the PC gaming industry still use such deceptive pricing?
@Anivia@feddit.org avatar

Yes, because the only people buying Nintendo Switch games are the ones who don’t care about the price in the first place. If you want to save money on switch games you just pirate them
