Did you have the game on a higher difficulty? I didnt have that experience, but I put it on one of the higher difficulties initially. I forget which but I found that more fun.
Its fair though, it wont be for everyone. Kinda like TemTem. I wanted to like TemTem, but the puzzles really sucked. So much so that I stopped playing the game halfway through.
Given how little libraries advertise, this is something that I found recently. Like many, I missed being able to easily/quickly rent games via Blockbuster. But, it turns out many librarians keep up with modern preferences and keep quite a few games for checkout. Even when the one closest library doesn’t have something I want,...
Given the swathes of posts about bad behavior from big companies, I figure we could counterbalance that with some positivity about stuff the smaller guys made that often costs us less too.
Your not wrong. If it weren't for steam being absolutely stellar than I wouldn't be buying games from them. I would try to go through gog. But with their work on proton alone I personally give them a pass.
As you’re most probably used to by now, this is just my initial warning that what follows is my ranting and rambling about both Steam Deck-specific(ish) news, and general gaming news I’ve spotted and seems interesting to me....
Don't get me wrong, I love steam and would probably keep buying it the platform given the chance.
However (it's very unlikely) valve could go and do a Google and start locking down their store and there is realistically nothing I can do about it (other than yo ho). Gog doesn't have that problem with drm free games. But they really don't support open source like valve has gone.
Just a reminder don't have emulators on GitHub. They work with big companies to make sure they are taken down. Forks do nothing to help since it's easy for them to find now.
We are literally in a thread about a takedown in GH. But if you go to other sites, they have the repo up.
Suyu, Nuzu, Uzuy, Torzu, and Sudachi have all been taken down. Youtube-dl got taken down until public outcry. The number of takedowns since 2022 have only increased over the years. 2024 being the highest amount.
I'm glad the repos above are not yet being taken down, I truly am. But GitHub is just Microsoft at the end of the day.
We are also on platforms (Lemmy/piefed) that have chosen codeberg over GitHub for their main git hosting.
As a preface, I used to do this a lot on Reddit. My hobby (sounds odd) was to make a little old-school-blog-style post, detailing what I found interesting in gaming in the last week or so. I got a name for it, for a time, but having long-since abandoned reddit I thought I might try the same thing here, if you’ll indulge me!...
