Yup. I was in a second hand game shop (cex) a month or so ago and most switch games were only 10 quid cheaper than the e shop. Mario and legend of Zelda where something like 50 pounds. That’s because those games don’t actually drop in price either psychically or on the eShop much.
I’d rather have the art book and soundtrack separate instead of being included with other items/bonuses in a deluxe edition. I never use the sound track or the art book so I don’t think they’re worth adding up for an extra tenner.
Well, as a guy, I’ve been asked multiple times why I systematically play games female characters in video games, to the point of skipping a game if I’m forced to pay a male one, with a few exceptions (I really liked Albus from Troubleshooters for example). Whenever there’s romance in a game, I’ll also take the F/F route....
Personally it’s because I like the range of outfits better when I create a female character. Like a dude maybe has trousers, jacket and a shirt but a woman has those and a skirt and a blouse and a dress. I like having more options. I’m also not sure if I’m completely cis or not as I’m now starting to question some things.
I remember getting Prince of Persia 2008 in a steel case for a birthday or maybe Xmas and loved the design of it. I haven’t seen my steel case editions recently.
I’d say the avatar series in general is good at having diverse characters who are complex. I know Korra gets a lot of shit but I personally really liked that they tried to have an avatar actually suffering from mental illness.
The sims also used to be bugged so that it was more common for sims to get with sims of the same sex. If anything the preference actually made straight couples more common.
First one as well. Ellie is gay. Confirmed in the dlc for the first game, the last of us 2 has Ellie in a relationship with a bi woman and there’s also a trans character in it.
I honestly thought of Mario first but yeah, Tetris, Mario, pacman and maybe space invaders would be instantly recognisable to everyone. If I was to show my non gamer dad a picture of Niko, CJ or Trevor/Michael/Franklin then he would have no idea who they were. Where as the other games he absolutely would recognise the characters or the names.

I hate dollars per hour to determine how something is good value. I could sit and watch a 3-4 hour movie but if it’s a genre I dislike then I’ll probably not feel I got value out of it. Likewise if I buy a 70 quid game but it’s 15-20 hours and it’s got a great story, impressive visuals and solid mechanics then I’ll have got my money’s worth but if something is 70 quid and it’s filled with things that feel like a checklist to do then I’ll end up regretting the price that I paid.
