Sharpiemarker,

Some games are installed locally. If you use the Windows Gamepass app, some games will install rather than stream. So I guess it’s possible.

Sharpiemarker,

I’ve played maybe a dozen hours; what’s the purpose of setting up outposts?

Sharpiemarker, (edited )

Everything everything?

EDIT

Registration is closed and by invite only now.

Sharpiemarker,

I’ve had this same thought since Starfield came out. Go play ED: Odyssey and then complain about how plain and boring planets are.

Sharpiemarker,

The point isn’t that ED being boring makes Starfield good. The point is that space exploration is mostly boring, and ED exemplifies that well. If I wanted unrealistic space exploration, I’d just play No Man’s Sky.

Sharpiemarker,

It’s a brand new game that has pretty high end system requirements. It’s pretty normal to have to mess with the graphics settings to get new games to run smoothly.

Sharpiemarker,

The pirated ones just call to me stronger.

I think it’s just you.

hardware: use TV as a monitor?

Hi all My kid will get a gaming pc soon. I can’t swallow the cost of a whole setup at the moment. I’m thinking of getting a good motherboard with a decent second hand graphics card (a colleague I trust can find me one). And over time upgrade where needed. For monitor I would be using my TV....

Sharpiemarker,

I appreciate that you’re doing this on a budget. The only thing I can say is that a monitor doesn’t represent a significant portion of the build budget. A basic monitor can be had for under $100. Honestly a lot of tech-oriented people have extras laying around. I’ve had 3 extra 1080p monitors in my garage for the last few years. It’s entirely possible that someone may be giving one away near you.

Sharpiemarker,

Some games do support this functionality; typically flight or racing sims. Best of luck getting it running.

Some noob questions about seedboxes angielski

I apologize in advance because I’m sure these probably feel like some stupid and duplicate questions. However, my attempts to find answers to these online have been met with answers that are sparse, oftentimes old (8+ years), and conflicting. I am looking into getting a seedbox. I decided to go with Whatbox because they seem...

Sharpiemarker,

A surprising percentage of gamers seem to think that any new AAA title game is catered to them and rather than understand it was made for other people, they complain about how bad it is.

Sharpiemarker,

Well-recommended. Thanks for the information!

Sharpiemarker,

Steam is about the only platform I wouldn’t mess with. I’ve spent way too much money on my library for Steam to ban my account.

Sharpiemarker,

I share your sentiment. I previously owned an Xbox 360 but had been in the Sony camp for the past decade. For a few months I had a gamepass subscription without an Xbox console and I’m currently a PS+ premium member. The fact that you get day 1 access to first-party titles from Microsoft AND they have a gamepass streaming app on Android and PC is huge. I may have to reconsider the value proposition of my Sony services.

Sharpiemarker,

It has a ring of familiarity to it.

Sharpiemarker,

Idk if any of you are old enough to remember NonSteamDown, an alternative Steam launcher that gave you access to all Valve’s games (when the only games you could get through Steam were Valve’s own titles). Completely unrelated to your question about Steamunlocked, it just triggered a core memory from my youth.

Sharpiemarker,

Haha cheers!

Sharpiemarker,

It’s android, a you can set your own launcher rather than using Nvidia’s.

Good sources for obscure educational videos? angielski

Hello. I am having trouble finding a video I own on VHS format. I want to get a digital copy, but it probably does not exist. I think there are rules against asking about particular titles, so I’ll just state the topic. It’s about skills used by guides for camping in the wilderness between north central US and Canada. Are...

Sharpiemarker,

Honestly, I’d check at your local library. A lot of them have inter-library loans, so they can search a network of libraries for the specific title you’re looking for.

Sharpiemarker,

Great suggestion!

Sharpiemarker,

“woman commits arson with Takis hot chip”

No she didn’t, she lit the chip on fire and used that to set the gasoline on fire.

Gotta love clickbait exaggeration.

[PS4] What are some other games with both social and other gameplay, ala Persona and Stardew Valley?

My wife loves games with that sort of gameplay loop, where you have a main gameplay style/loop within a world of people and places you get to know for both flavor and gameplay benefits. Persona is a series and SDV a game that we have put a lot of time into together. She was talking about playing P4 again, but I crave novelty....

Sharpiemarker,

Turok trying to set a record for the longest time between video game sequels?

Turok 2 came out in 1998

Sharpiemarker,

Exactly. OP, whatever you’re thinking of doing is an incredibly bad idea and very illegal.

Sharpiemarker,

This sound like it will be as good as the Mario movie

Looking for games with strong female leads for my daughter (even just to watch as I play). Came across this link, but they're a bit age-inappropriate. Any suggestions from the community? (gameranx.com) angielski

Edit: Daughter is only 5 so she’s unlikely to play much but she watches me and as long as it’s not too violent, it should be fine

Sharpiemarker,

Eventually she should play Horizon Zero Dawn 😁

Just want a solid gaming laptop (reddit.com)

My mom likes to play No Man’s Sky and Valheim, but her Asus TUF started freezing on games. RMA found no problems and sent it back to her but it still happens. I ordered a Legion for her but now I see these posts about all Nvidia 40-series laptops freezing up. What’s a gaming mom supposed to do?

Sharpiemarker,

Vampire the masquerade was way ahead of it’s time and underrated as a game.

Cyberpunk was absolutely way too ambitious. But they’ve made substantial efforts to fix the stuff that was broken or bugged. It has become a very good game.

Sharpiemarker,

I’m not familiar with the 2000 AD universe. Is there a good place to start?

Where are all the good stealth games?

I’ve been trying to find one throughout the Steam summer sale and come up dry, and now I’m out of money until the 15th. Hopefully y’all can help me find a good one before the winter sale. Here’s a rundown of what I’ve tried so far and what I’ve liked and dislike about them:...

Sharpiemarker,

Have you played We Happy Few? I think it has elements of stealth, like Hitman.

What about Subnautica? Some stealth required there. Maybe. A fun game nonetheless.

Sharpiemarker,

Who speculates about games before they’re ever released? Stop talking about it until it’s out and playable.
